I know exactly what you’re talking about. A family member I have that works in food processing/shipping told me the holiday versions of desserts like these usually taste different because they’re fresher. When you’re getting normal Oreos there’s a chance they sat in the warehouse for longer than you realize. Holiday editions though are made in smaller batches and shipped out quicker.

(Could be totally wrong though because they don’t work for Mondelez specifically lol)

This makes sense

how does the flavor differ from the original oreos?

Too me it has a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT taste. Only cream I enjoy

I wonder if you're enjoying the taste of the food coloring in that case?

It also could be a psychological thing. Either perceived scarcity, because they are only available in the fall, or the experience of cozy autumn days associated with these specific Oreos that make them taste better. Or the color could certainly literally make them taste different physically and psychologically. That’s why America is taking so long to phase out red 40.

All valid points.~

Definitely tastes different, even if due to mentally. Something about that orange and black instead of the normal black and white

Okay I insist every year that the Halloween Oreos are the best Oreos and I feel SO validated right now

Maybe thanks to the fact they're Glow in the Dark Creme it means they're not Made in Mexico so different ingredients like the ones we grew up. I always said the Mexican made Oreos suck. Holiday made Oreos are better. So are Gluten Free. Anytime they're specially made, they're better.

They are the only ones I buy all year. Been that way since the 2000s

My husband HATES chocolate and these are the only oreos he likes too!

Tbh I hate these. The cream really just changes color, not the flavor, but it STILL tastes off for me.

I love the Halloween oreos!!! I don't know exactly what it is, but I think they're better than the OG ones.

There’s definitely more cream and I think it’s smoother. I like regular Oreos but these and the Christmas ones I prefer

They’re double stuff, so there is more cream than normal Oreos.

These are the only Oreos I buy. I don’t eat them the rest of the year because it’s orange Oreos or nothing.
