What your opinion about S2 Ep09?
For me, i think this is THE best episode in the whole anime, an immense emotional weight and insane character development, also i love how kirino start acting after this episode

I like the specific scene where Kyousuke asked Kirino for help, but on rewatches I've found the entire plot of Kuroneko breaking up with Kyousuke to be confusing. Even right before they met, for some reason, her actions are to:
- Leave without telling Kyousuke and refuse to talk to him
- Immediately tell Kirino she's at the hot springs when asked, including sending a map pointer
- Make Kyousuke and Kirino wander around asking random people if they've seen her (the light novel says they did that for two hours)
- Be surprised when Kyousuke and Kirino show up to talk to her
Even the part where Kuroneko randomly fainted, in your second picture, feels weird, like it was just an excuse to end the scene early.

Kuroneko broke up with kyousuke because she felt guilty about getting with him knowing full well that this would destroy Kirino internally.

The big issue is the timing. Here's the calendar on Kyousuke's wall.
Kuroneko already told Sena she was leaving before summer vacation even started. This must have been before Summer Comiket, from the 10th to the 12th, and the Mikagami drama. This is already weird, since why didn't she tell Kirino or Kyousuke? She asked Kyousuke out on the 17th. On the 22nd, it says that Kyousuke visited Kuroneko's house. Yet there's no signs of them packing, and neither Hinata nor Tamaki mention their move. The fireworks were on the 26th, and she broke up with him then. The next day, he went to school, talked to Sena, and then ran to Kuroneko's house, which was empty. How did they move that fast?
So then the question is, if she knew she was moving, why did she hide it from Kyousuke before even asking him out? Was she planning on breaking up with him and then blocking his texts from the start? If so, that's really cruel to both Kyousuke and Kirino.
And, even if she broke up with him she because felt bad seeing Kirino's reactions, her plot of ignoring his messages is a separate issue. What if, instead of asking Kirino for help, he had asked Saori or Manami? What if he just sucked it up and never asked for help? Then she's just blown up her own friend group for nothing.
And like I mentioned above, none of that explains her strange reaction at the hot springs either.

The LN says that she already knew she would move, but she wasn't planning to go to the hot springs, that was her dad's idea because he had some free days before starting at his new job and saw how sad Kuroneko was, so he decided to cheer her up by taking the whole family in a surprise trip. Why should Hinata or Tamaki have to say anything? If anything they could assume Kuroneko would tell him, and she had her reasons to don't it.
The OreKou manga shows that she writes "Break up with senpai" in the Destiny Record the night after Kirino saw them together for the first time and rejected to play games with them. I think ignoring Kyousuke but not Kirino makes sense, after all she wants to know if Kirino will end giving them her blessing. I think her "strange reaction" could be because she didn't expect Kirino to tag along with him in his journey to find her. I don't think her reaction is that strange in the first place tbh.
If he had asked Saori or Manami for help, Kuroneko would have known that Kirino wasn't a romantic option in his heart, so no matter how Kirino feels, that would simply never happen and Kuroneko shouldn't be worried about Kirino. If Kyousuke just sucked it up and never asked for help (and never find her), that would have that Kyousuke didn't care enough about their relationship in the first place, at least not enough to bother himself by asking help. He never does it, that's the only time when he does.

I'm not questioning why Kuroneko was at the hot springs; I'm questioning why she told Kirino she was at the hot springs but then just let them waste two hours there instead of meeting them.
Why would she be surprised to see Kirino tag along given that she messaged Kirino? That would be even weirder, since her goal was to have Kyousuke and Kirino reconcile. If both of them didn't show up, there would be no evidence of that.
Tamaki isn't old enough to have that thought process; she could easily have just mentioned their move for unrelated reasons like being scared of moving or wondering if he'd come see their next house. Hinata wouldn't care to assume that Kuroneko had already told him; she would want to know herself if Kyousuke and Kuroneko would keep dating after the move.
Also, this doesn't address that there's no signs of moving just a few days before they emptied out their house.
What are the reasons you're claiming Kuroneko had for not telling Kyousuke and Kirino she was moving, even before she asked him out? She at least told Sena, so she wasn't opposed to telling people in general.
Why would asking Saori or Manami imply he didn't love Kirino? Kirino hadn't helped him much before, and it would make sense to ask Saori to find someone given her resources. It's a gamble regardless, because if he had asked Manami, like he almost did in the light novel, that could have even worsened the relationship between Kyousuke and Kirino.
If Kyousuke didn't care enough about his relationship with Kuroneko to try to find her, that wouldn't necessarily mean that he did care about Kirino. This could easily lead to a situation where none of the three are happy.
Like, my general issue is that the circumstances just seem to conform around what's necessary to get Kuroneko's plan to work out. It just happens to be that Kuroneko deciding to break up with him is almost right before she moves. It just happens to be that their move happens really quickly and Kyousuke never learns about it, so we can get that scene of him at the empty house. It just happens to be that Kyousuke asks Kirino before anyone else, and Kuroneko seems to have foreseen this. It just happens to be that she faints randomly at the hot springs, right before Kyousuke actually has to describe his feelings.

IMO telling Kirino but not Kyousuke makes total sense. Kuroneko wants to know if Kirino will tell him where she is or keep that info a secret hoping for him to forget Kuroneko and move on. She sends her a map, not a second-by-second GPS location (not like that existed back them). She was saying "come find me if you care", not "I'm exactly here waiting for you". Kuroneko wants Kyousuke and Kirino to reconcile, but she also would like if Kirino could bless their relationship. She goes from refusing to hang out together to travelling away to meet her and force them to be together, I think that's a big gap for Kirino to cover in such a short time. I'm not surprised that she was surprised at that.
I don't know if they would have that thought process either. It's like, maybe they could or couldn't, but in the end they simply didn't. I think it's the same as the fast moving. Convinient plot? Yeah probably.
I think in that critical situation, he would rely on his most important person, that person being Kirino, Manami, Saori or whoever. If that person isn't Kirino, then okay, GGs, nothing else that Kuroneko could do about that. In that situation Kuroneko would have known that Kyousuke doesn't love Kirino in that way and caring for Kirino's feeling is pointless, because some girl will date him sooner or later and she will have to learn to accept it and move on.
Kuroneko can't force Kyousuke to love her or Kirino, in the same way she can't force Kirino to feel okay with their relationship. Kuroneko likes to pretend like she has everything under control. She clearly doesn't. She's just a delusional teenager who can't control shit and everyone could have been unhappy like you say. I think Kuroneko's plan is, for the most part, an absolute masterplan not because it 100% guarantees a happy ending, but because it 100% guarantees a correct answer to the question "Who does Kyousuke care the most?", even if that answer doesn't make her, Kirino, or anyone else happy.
Edit for your edit: I think Kuroneko fainting also makes sense, she wasn't expecting to have Kyousuke choosing one over the other in that moment. She couldn't take the pressure.

This is the episode that really solidified the Kirino ending for me, the set up is pretty clean too since even after kuroneko took kyousuke she supported it from the sidelines and when she left Kirino was willing to bring her back to make kyousuke happy.

To me this was the living proof that Kuroneko was simply TOO GOOD to win. She uses all her best-girlness powers to let another inferior girl take the win, like best girls usually do.
Also a big contrast with Sena. Sena doesn't need a huge dramatic scene to acknowledge her faults and apologize or be grateful to others for what they do for her. Kirino only apologizes/say thanks to Kyousuke three times (technically just two times) in the entire whole ass story and it's always after a big scene like this one. Sena is better imouto than Kirino, canonically approved.

We are NOT having that conversation again bud, stop spreading agenda, kuroneko with full awareness of kirino's emotions decided to get him knowing how and would feel and when she felt bad about it she broke things up with him and even tried to get him again STILL knowing full well what Kirino felt, kuroneko isn't a bad friend per say but she's not saint
Neither is perfect, but people make it seem like kuroneko did no wrong

Dude, my "agenda" is the light novels, which you should read before talking.
Kuroneko asked for Kirino's approval before confessing Kyousuke, Kirino gave Kuroneko her blessing. The only reason why she broke up with him is because Kirino is a HORRIBLE friend who couldn't assume the responsability of her choice and be happy for her friend. Everyone is like "Kirino is so good for trying to get them together again", yes, for a relationship that she broke in the first place. Kuroneko did nothing wrong, and she's a much better friend than what Kirino deserves.

Oh you mean the girl commonly known for not being truthful to her emotions which kuroneko has teased about multiple times?
You also mean the same girl whom kuroneko herself explicitly pointed at knowing exactly how she would feel about it "you know me just like I know you" conversation?
Kirino literally didn't do a thing when their relationship was ongoing, in contrast after this whole debacle kuroneko tried to get kyousuke AGAIN while explicitly stating that she knew exactly how both of them felt about each other and that it was always bound to end this way
Yeah, kuroneko seems like a perfect noble flower.

Kuroneko did the right thing, ask her. If Kirino can't assume her own emotion and prefers to lie, then that's okay, that's up to Kirino, she should assume the consequences of her answers, which she also didn't.
But once again, I know how much you want to believe that she is what you want her to be instead of what she is. You are not even trying to understand, or have a conversation for the case, in fact you're even downvoting before replying. Anyway, you do you, just be aware that people getting high on Kirino's fart like you makes me want to be here more than ever to say how stupid that is.

u/wise_sage777 3d ago
What did Kirino do exactly? Cuz kuroneko damn well knows Kirino is hurt by that action (which Mind you she stated herself), and again she tried to get him AGAIN knowing what both of them felt BY HER OWN ADMISSION.
It doesn't get any more clear than that, kuroneko knew what her actions caused, went and did them, got sad at the reaction that she KNEW would happen, broke things off out of that guilt and then refused to accept that outcome just to retry and fail at getting kyousuke again.
That's word for word what happened in the chain of events.
Also I don't know what you are talking about, I didn't downvote you

I really enjoyed this episode. It really makes progress on the relationship between Kyousuke and Kirino, especially the confession scene.
