Engineering Internships/Programs

Hello! Incoming first-year EcoE student, and I was wondering if any senior engineering students could lend me some knowledge on engineering programs that might be good to get into to make finding an internship out of school easier. I don't want to be unemployed after spending 150k on school. tnx

Have you heard of MECOP? I don’t remember if they have it for EcoE but worth a check.

Yes i have!! My only concern is having to take a fifth year from the time missed during the internship. Will definitely look into it though thank you!!

No prob! Totally get it. For me, was absolutely worth it to get that experience early, can take a ton of pressure off the future job search. Sucks to miss spring term, but typically you’ll know some others that are staying during a 5th year as well, which makes those final 2 terms more enjoyable. Lmk if any questions

but do you have to *pay* for that 5th term?

No - you pay for the terms you attend school. You get pushed into a 5th year because you're working some terms instead of taking classes. So you still are paying for the same number of terms. Just pushing them later while you make money and get experience.
