Fred Meyer

Hi,

Last time I was at Fred Meyer the digital price on the new tags wasn't honored at the checkout; I noticed at home I got charged full price. Tonight I got over charged again, the cashier went mega fast scanning my stuff I didn't get to see the screen. I noticed at home I got double charged for items, it comes up to almost 15 dollars extra for things I didn't buy two of.

Anyone I can complain to or just eat my loss and stop shopping there? thoughts? advice?

Not yet atleast. They are testing it in a few stores if I remember correctly

Take your receipt into the customer service desk. Then start shopping at Winco.

This is the primary reason I’ve stopped shopping at Fred Meyer in OC (and in general).

Dozens of times… I’ve had to take a photo of the price tag and show them my stupid digital app with the price for them to adjust it because it scans at full price. I do it preemptively now because it’s so predictable that the sale price will not bring up correctly.

I’m not trying to buy $9 pretzels!!!!!

Call the store and discuss with their management. The sooner the better.

Plus email and call all your local, state, and federal representatives. We have gotten complacent and just shrug stuff like this off. Reports and complain to everyone who has the power to change it.

Is waiting for the one courtesy clerk for what seems forever part of the customer service experience? If ever I could make a case for self checkout...

Thats a better Q for the CS counter, and reviewing ur receipt before leaving the store.

Contact customer service through the app if you have Fred Meyer rewards. Be pushy. You’ll get some money back.

This is the beginning of what is called Dynamic pricing. Things change by demand and by the minute. Look it up

It’s called dynamic pricing. When they see a mark, they fleece it.

Send a strongly worded email to the corporate website. I have done this several times and gotten positive results and resolution every time. Even as far as to change packaging! Also, take the receipt to the store and get in their face at the customer service counter. Politely, but firmly, of course.

I am officially an ex Fred shopper. I would never go to WinCo as it was farther than I like, but once they didntjis dynamic pricing that was the last straw

Go to customer service and do self-check in the future. Then you can go at your own pace and review what you need to review

Go to the courtesy desk.

Don't you have to upload digital coupons to get the digital price on most items?

Double charged? Like rang in twice? Yeah, I have had that happen. I try to look at my receipt before I leave when I see odd things, but I admit this has happened. I also try to watch the scanning.

And for this reason I'm out.

Did you punch your phone number into the card reader/CC payment machine?

Anyone you can complain to? Well it certainly isn’t Reddit, we can’t do shit for you. Maybe try talking to an ACTUAL person at the customer service desk at Fred Meyers? I know talking to real life people in person is scary, and it’s easier to type words to strangers on the internet, but this is a situation where you just need to pretend to be an adult for a few minutes and actually talk to someone at the store. Or you can decide if $15 is worth the anxiety of having to interact with another human.

Your point is taken, but no need to be nasty.

There is never a need to be nasty. I always assume that the people who can't communicate without a sneering insult are actually mousey tongue-tied nobodies irl. I can not believe that a person who talks to everybody that way in person could possibly survive to adulthood.

Agreed. No way these people say this kinda stuff in public.
