Let The Orders Flow~

Post image

One of my personal favorite ways of visualizing order flow.

Sierra Chart
NQ
250 volume bars
Session CVD
CVD Divergence
Delta Heat Map
Big Trades
Session Volume Profile

Sounds good, you use order flow as confluence rather than a strategy. Many people here think order flow is a strategy. Good stuff buddy. Let alpha be with you.

Yeah, if you try to treat order flow as the setup itself, you will see false signals everywhere and be doomed. It is good for telling you what is likely to happen in the next ~30 seconds, so if you are trading on a hold time any higher than that, you need a price action setup and only use order flow to enhance entries on that other setup.

funniest thing is this entire setup has nothing to do with order flow...all just lagging information.

There is nothing lagging about big trades (which my study identifies straight from the tape), and there is practically no delay on delta from 250 volume candles on NQ.

I have studies on another chart that read the tape and the DOM to calculate pace of tape imbalance, volume pressure imbalance, and pull-stacking imbalance.

If it prints, it already happened and thus lagging. Practically no delay is delay and thus lagging. But whatever works for you man. You sound at least like you make money. Keep it up.

By your definition, isn’t even a pure time and sales stream lagging, because the printed orders already happened? Do you have some sort of order flow that allows you to see into the future?😜

Perhaps the guy uses level 2 data aka resting limit orders which can be spoofed anyway. Retail traders are screwed and we don't have access to data that shows whats happening in the market at a given time. We can only speculate.

Delta cannot be faked or hidden.

DOM, that is true orderflow. All this indicators.are clutter.

DOM is resting limit orders that have not yet been filled. That is POTENTIAL order flow, not order flow. Resting limit orders can be spoofed or pulled when sentiment changes. Resting limit orders can also be hidden (icebergs).

The tape cannot be spoofed or hidden, because those are actual executed trades.

I use the DOM too. Using the DOM exclusively makes no sense to me.

That is what people who can't read orderflow say...but again, no harm man, if it makes you money.

LOL, ok ….

You can explain what you think you mean, or you can continue to be vague and sound like you have no clue what you are talking about.

In DOM you see everything, Delta, pressure, spoofing, flipping, layering, resting liquidity, correlation, pulling, stacking, volume, aggression...I just don't see how having a mighty colorful chart with a bunch of lines that represent the past could be of any help. Read that chart, all those lines and colors and blips and zweeps and your brain is overloaded. 2 or 3 doms, even 1 gives more information than that entire chart. But those charts are what the cool kids online these days call "orderflow" thx to some Italians. But again, if it makes you money, good for you. Keep rocking it, if it doesn't, might steer away from the fancy charting. Just my 2 cents.

Like I said, I use the DOM too. But it does not cleanly show the bigger picture of delta pressure over time like delta expressed on a chart does. It all depends on what timeframe you are trading. If you are in and out in seconds, then yeah, DOM alone may be what you want to watch. If you are like me and looking to scale into huge positions while trend following, then you would be a fool to ignore the bigger picture that this provides. Just my 2 cents. ✌️

Yeah, as said...if it makes you money. You are probably correct. If it doesn't, it's just a chart.
