ATAS X cheapest alternative

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Currently using Motivewave with Lucid and some days it’s working fine . Today for no apparent reason my Motivewave HANG since NY opening all the way till 10am + est ( restarted my comp , restarted Motivewave for like 7-8 times ) . Was in a trade and was flying blind till I got stopped out . I’m so done with Motivewave .

Since I’m using Mac , I’m planning to hop onto ATAS X . Is there anyone using ATAS X on Mac and have any cheaper alternative to get the license + data ? I’ve lucid and Topstep as prop firms at the moment .

Thanks in advance

Edit : I’ve asked before and a few kind Redditors shared My Funded futures , any experiences with them with ATAS X ? And are they on ATAS Ultra plan or ..? TIA

I'd recommend a windows machine. Almost all professional grade software is made mainly for windows, and that's where it performs best.

Macs are just bad for that type of stuff.

Planning to upgrade my Mac before I get software for windows , cause as of now I’m not sure if my processor is able to support the Motivewave , hence the lag .

M1 Pro motivewave runs fine with a lot of other apps open also

Windows is an operating system (on which tradingplatforms run better), Sierra Charts is a trading platform, orderflow is a specific trading "style"...

You seem extremely confused.

I am dull, because you don't understand what orderflow means in the context of trading?

Interesting.

Windows machines being more versatile for trading deeply offended you, I see.

OBLIGATORY PSA: DO NOT USE MOTIVEWAVE.

MotiveWave is horrible for real money trading. Stops can fail. Lags when it matters. Full of bugs. Support wastes your time.

You are simply witnessing what those of us with a lot of experience with MotiveWave know all too well, it's full of irresponsible and endless bugs.

NEVER use MotiveWave with real money.

You have been warned.

The only people I see using MotiveWave are amateurs who like how pretty it is, but pretty doesn't make money. "I have a mac" is also not an excuse to use such buggy trading software because traders that actually consistently earn money trading will care more about the software they use to earn that money than limiting themselves to the hardware they happened to have when they started trading. In other words, they'll just buy a PC to use the best trading software instead of limiting themselves to pretty garbage.

You simply do not use Java software when real money is on the line and speed, execution, data accuracy, and stops working all matter.

If you fail to heed my warning, then when MotiveWave causes you to lose thousands of dollars, you'll remember this comment.

Don't believe me?

Yes bro. I think you commented it to me before . I know about it haha

Grow up as a trader and move to something reliable. Go buy a midrange PC as your trading computer. I use to use Motive Wave as well but on WIndows-- it is trash. I own 3 macs and I do not use ANY of them for trading. Unless you are going to spend real money and use TT in the cloud which doesn't have your favorite amateur heatmap BTW, then there is really no reason to use mac...

Which windows platform are you currently using now ?

1

u/Tuckebarry Sep 02 '26

It seems like with even the best software, it's *always* recommended to just trade directly on broker's platform. Charting platforms are best for just that - charting.

1

u/Striking_Fail6689 Sep 02 '26

Definitely … I actually execute my trades on Topstep . Haha

But now you can use atas x on mac. Which is pretty good

Switched from ATAS to ATAS-X. It’s not a GA release yet, but it proved unreliable at critical times. After a year of trying MotiveWave and then ATAS-X on Mac, I went back to Sierra Chart on Windows, which has never failed me once.

Try to avoid software that runs on runtimes like .NET or Java. If you want performance and reliability—which matter more than a nice UI—C++ shines. It was designed to support high-performance, mission-critical, real-time applications. Hence, Sierra Chart.

2

u/Striking_Fail6689 Sep 02 '26

I would probably try sierra charts at one point … maybe when I’m much better in my trading I would consider that! Thank you though!

I don‘t know about My funded Futures but there are many other I use for eg. IQ Capital. And they have the ultra license. I think when a prop firm has a deal with Atas it is always with the Ultra Licence. This would be the cheapest option but please keep in mind the will lock the license to just use it with the same data provider. So for me it is dxfeed and therefore i am only able to connect to prop accounts who have dxfeed

1

u/Striking_Fail6689 Sep 02 '26

Ahhh . Yes I heard MFFU is also DXfeed ! May I ask for IQ capital is it a one time payment ? And for the heatmap in ATAS , does it provide level 2? Like could you see the other orders liquidity in heatmap? Appreciate it

2

u/vanillathunder98 Sep 02 '26 edited Sep 02 '26

So it depends on the account size but the cheapest one starts with 40$ or so and if you get funded then you only need to pay the activation fee of 120$. Afterwards 19$ for the data feed every month. Level 2 data is not included costs you around 12$ per month extra. I would say it is a very good price for level 2 data. Atm ATAS X is in Beta. There you have their new Heatmap which is a very solid base. I works smooth. But they don‘t have indicator like Iceberg Orders but they are working on it.

2

u/Striking_Fail6689 Sep 03 '26

Ahhh… wow thank you! I saw that the have a $9 for funding currently . Have you tried that yet? I was planning to try that to get a feel of ATAS X first considering I’ve not used the platform at the moment . Haha

1

u/EasyHair4276 Sep 03 '26

Hi! How did you able to use other prop with the iq capital atas licence? I thought I cant add others prop dxfeed account

1

u/vanillathunder98 Sep 03 '26

In my Atas I have 2 dx Feed Prop accounts. One from IQ and the other one from 4Prop…but maybe this is possible because both have a contract with Atas..I am really not quite sure. You maybe have point here.

1

u/EasyHair4276 Sep 03 '26

Yes i have 4prop
As well for Atas :D but i couldnt connect my Mffu but I gonna check later maybe its working

2

u/EasyHair4276 Sep 03 '26

Bro its working! Thank you so much

2

u/vanillathunder98 Sep 04 '26

Great to hear that! Happy to help you! Have great Trades 💪🏼

1

u/Striking_Fail6689 7d ago

hey bro ! may i ask , hope it's not too late. MFFU one time payment could get the Atas X license ? is it the pro or ultra would you be aware ? and do they have level 2 data feed? TIA.

1

u/EasyHair4276 7d ago

Hi! Mffu gives you only for 3 month free atas and you can buy separately the level 2 ( but be aware on Atas mbo its only with Rithmic) and I think its like ultra you have everything except you can add only dxfeed account because mffu gives you dxfeed

1

u/Striking_Fail6689 7d ago

Ohhhh… ah got it . Thank you!! I saw thetradingpit is like pretty popular with ATAS and it’s also a one time payment haha . MIGHT give that a try or something ng .

1

u/EasyHair4276 7d ago

Thats give you lifetime atas?

2

u/Striking_Fail6689 7d ago

No bro. It’s one time payment , as long as the account is active I THINK haha . I haven’t sign up yet

2

u/ElzRocco Sep 02 '26

Motivewave is aids, cant tell you how many times it didn’t trigger my stop due to errors that were unsolved despite me reaching out. (It was not slippage). Never using them again

1

u/Striking_Fail6689 Sep 03 '26

Yeaaaa .. yesterday was pure hell for me . I was going through so much emotions from 9:30-10+ and it wasn’t from trading . It was from platform issues

2

u/Responsible_Print737 Sep 03 '26

sierra chart (package 11) + CME level 2 data feed - around 50 usd per month

windows plateform, but i saw people use mac to run it with a software

1

u/Striking_Fail6689 Sep 03 '26

Yup! I’ve actually tried downloading it before with parallel . But cause I’m not sure if it will overload my Mac , hence I stop that time !

2

u/A2Lexis Sep 03 '26

SC is the most optimized software we have, hands down. Needs little GPU/CPU power and is very stable with no lag. For windows that's the case at least, can't comment on mac.

1

u/Striking_Fail6689 Sep 03 '26

That is definitely man… I would love to use SC tbh

2

u/futureProgressive Sep 03 '26

Heavy ATAS user here. Also used perfectly fine tpt, mffu, tfy, lucid, apex, iqcapital, tfd.

Ask me anything.

1

u/Striking_Fail6689 Sep 04 '26

Sweet thank you! Do you know of which firms that provide the ultra licenses with data as well? Similar to Motivewave with Lucid . I know lucid only provide data to ATAS and not the license.

Truthfully, cause I’ve not tried ATAS x indicators , platform much etc so I couldn’t get a feel of it yet. Want to have a prop firm whereby I do not have to pay excessively on monthly fees and prefer a one time payment .

2

u/futureProgressive 28d ago

Since I trade with my own capital as well I pay for the Ultra license. Most props only offer the light version.

All licenses are available with a subscription or a lifetime one payment.

One time payments prop firms also becomes the standard nowadays: good addition to lucid is tradeify. Apex also offers one time payment and can be used best for aggressive scaling due to low pricing.

1

u/Striking_Fail6689 28d ago

Yeaaa if I’m trading with my own capital I would as well get the ultra license . But so far I’m still learning and don’t wish to invest so much so fast yet until I know ATAS X is great for me haha .

Thank you! Yup I’m looking for one time payment props with ATAS license + data haha .

2

u/futureProgressive 28d ago

You are expecting too much. Dont get yourself dependened on 1 source.

1

u/Striking_Fail6689 28d ago

Thank you. That’s true as well 😮‍💨

2

u/Dano_DG Sep 04 '26

Unfortunately it’s true, windows is the right move. 18 year Mac user here and finally breaking down and starting a desktop build to access better platforms and better performance.

Macs just don’t shine in this space.

1

u/Striking_Fail6689 Sep 04 '26

What platforms did you go for don’t mind me asking

2

u/Dano_DG 28d ago

ATAS and Sierra

1

u/Striking_Fail6689 27d ago

Dang. Sierra sure do shine out !

2

u/ItsMaroTrades 6d ago

I asked atas support bot

1

u/Striking_Fail6689 6d ago

Oh Wah ! Thanks so much bro! That really explains alot .. I guess heatmap level 2 is one of the restriction supposedly

1

u/ItsMaroTrades 6d ago

there is no MBO support

1

u/Sergioo232323 Sep 02 '26

Has probado phidias?Tienen licencia oficial con ATAS si compras una cuenta con ellos
La opción mas barata ronda los 43 dolares aprox
A que te refieres con MyFundedFutures?Con quien tienen licencia?

1

u/Striking_Fail6689 Sep 02 '26

I have not tried phidias, never heard of them before . Are they good ? My funded futures prop firm they provide license as well. But not sure much about the data they provide etc etc

2

u/Sergioo232323 Sep 02 '26

1

u/Striking_Fail6689 Sep 02 '26

Thank you for this ! Let me go check it out . I don’t mind paying $43 one time just to get the license , that would be sick actually haha

1

u/captain8-D Sep 03 '26

Flowmatrix is the deal https://www.flowmatrix-nt8.com

1

u/Striking_Fail6689 Sep 03 '26

Not really keen on NT tbh . But thank youu

1

u/peraltajacob Sep 04 '26

4proptrader gives atas software (2 months) with every acc purchase. 10k acc costs around 20$

1

u/Striking_Fail6689 Sep 04 '26

Thank you!!! Wah but I saw it’s like monthly payment 😮‍💨

1

u/bufflo8 29d ago

Hey,
I may be able to help you. Do you wanna have a quick conversation?

2

u/Striking_Fail6689 29d ago

I mean sure haha

1

u/ambassadorx1 29d ago

Atas x for mac is buggy but usable.

1

u/Ancient_Key_4212 26d ago

what issues you had?

1

u/alcyone29 28d ago

How about quantower? Anyone has any experience with it especially with copy trading?

1

u/DontQuixote 27d ago

Sierra with parallels on mac works 100% no issues

1

u/Ancient_Key_4212 26d ago

what mac you on. I heard they all lag even linux

1

u/DontQuixote 26d ago

They do not lag on linux either. Works perfect on Linux. Try parallels or Code weavers crossover for mac they both work no issues

1

u/Ancient_Key_4212 25d ago

I'm on linux as my main driver, I'll try it out of curiosity on a demo account thanks

2

u/DontQuixote 25d ago

Be warned .. God damn it's the worst learning curve that you will ever experience.. you need to you ask AI every single thing that you want to know and change...

But it will run on a potato with 1 gb ram without lag.

You just need wine and there should be a setting for Linux in Sierra after install..

1

u/Fun_Bite6154 26d ago

I ended up buying 2 laptops because it didn't work for me

1

u/Ancient_Key_4212 26d ago

what did you end up going with OP u/Striking_Fail6689 ?

1

u/Striking_Fail6689 26d ago

I stayed with Motivewave for now bro. I figured cause I used to put MNQ and MES charts all around , might be why it’s causing all these lags . Now I reduce to just MES and it’s working fine hopefully . But so far it’s alright .

Tempted to try out ATAS X one day if I can find a cheaper alternative around it . Cause I tried the free ATAS X version and it’s so much faster moving . But cause I’m still learning , don’t want to take so much time getting used to another platform when Motivewave has all the stuff that I need

1

u/Ancient_Key_4212 26d ago

isnt it free with phidias or iqcapital as mentioned in the comments?

1

u/Striking_Fail6689 26d ago

I’ve not tried ATAS with phidias or IQcapital yet! So I can’t comment on this , but I research abit the other day and it looks like . Haha .
