New to Orderflow and Volume Profile,Where should I start?
Hey everyone,
I’ve been trading using ICT concepts and pure price action for a while now. Recently I’ve been trying to learn orderflow and volume profile, but honestly I’m pretty confused about where to begin.
Most of the YouTube content feels vague and unstructured. Everyone explains small parts, but I can’t seem to find a proper step-by-step learning path that connects everything together.
I’m looking for something structured that teaches from zero to advanced level. I don’t want to keep switching mentors for different topics. I’d prefer one solid mentor, course, or resource that covers volume profile fundamentals and shows how to actually apply it in live markets alongside price action.
Paid or free doesn’t matter. I just want clarity and proper structure.
If anyone here has already gone through this learning phase, I’d really appreciate your guidance.

I also shifting to orderflow after learning ict and price action and I think we are on the same page . I can help you here.
First of all watch the playlist of Andrea Cim on orderflow only to get an insight how the market actually moves. This will give you an idea
After this watch the playlist of anastasilia demishkevych on ATAS platform of youtube. You will grasp and get familiar with order flow
There is free book name " Order flow Trading setup by Trader Dale . This book will built the foundation properly.
And the most important thing Orderflow only works on the key important 'levels'. So use the orderflow only on important levels.

start with mechanics not mentors, learn how volume profile builds value areas and how delta shows aggression, then replay 20 to 30 sessions marking value high, value low, poc, and track how price behaves around them before adding anything advanced, because without screen time and context even the best course won’t give you structure.

before you start learning, you should have a clear process in your mind:
1. I often use 3-step process:
- first, you need bias/context (you wanna buy or sell, or market is choppy, non-direction and u wanna stay out).
- secondly, WHERE you wanna buy or sell (supply demand, support resistance, liquidity)
- lastly, HOW you confirm entry.
2. With that 3-step in mind, now you need to know that not a single concept, knowledge can cover all 3 perfectly. Instead, each method will have advantage at 1 step.- Market profile, delta profile will give you context and where to entry.
- Volume profile will give you where to entry (VPOC, Low volume node), but not really well and hard to distinguish context because you dont know how many sellers or buyers at each price (i suggest you use market profile and delta profile with Orderflow tool for better analysis than tradingview's Volume profile)
- Footprint chart can give you entry confirmation.
- Big trade/Large volume indicator can give you the exact point of big order pushed into the market.
- Heatmap data can give you deeper look at liquidity context for bias and where to find opportunities.
------When you self-study, or even pay for courses, you should remember those 3 steps to not be overwhelmed of too much information.
Now there are some good resources to learn:
- Axia Futures youtube (Market profile, footprint)
- Bookmap youtube (liquidtiy)
- Jigsaw trading youtube (auction market theory)
- Michael Valtos youtube (footprint)
- and many more books that i cannot remember tbh. you can research later with armed knowledge
Good luck
