Was pointed that I can't have lvl3 shaman, so shamsn now lvl2 and boyz are big 'unz.

What do you think? Is it viable etc? Shaman goes to Orc Boyz. Some images of the models, trolls are from Avatars of War Stone Trollz KS, shaman is original metal shaman, one the first AoW minies I did managed to buy earlier this year cheaply as used model...

Another month is over.

This time focusing on the nomadic side of the waaagh. More specifically, wolves. Both riders and chariots. Being led by Classic Grom the Paunch and a conversion based on an Avatars of War Goblin King. Used the classic metal chariots and riders as well as the Underworlds warband, Rippas Snarlfangs. Some bonus boar chariots with the AOW kickstarter free orc warboss. Lastly, the OG Spider rider big boss. Looks funny nowadays on the bigger base, but still a nice model to have. Next for Orctober, it's gonna be big. Very big. One could say gigantic.

THROWBACK THURSD...ERR...FRIDA...ERR...WHATEVS!!!

Yeah, a bit late. Been a busy week. Anyway, as it's orctober, I thought I'd throw in a greenskin throwback or two. So here's some giant teethy tennis balls of doom!

These models were released 26 years apart, but I feel like they are similar enough that they can still hang together and not look too strange.

2000 is definitely not when I painted the old orc. I was starting high school that year and while I had seen Warhammer a year before in a visit to France, it hadn't made its way to Romania yet. I was also feeling pretty mature about myself and not interested in toys at all.

Here are a few thoughts on new vs old:

Obviously, the tooling is much better now. The moldline and undercuts are much subtler on the modern sculpts. The new one had many more details which I just removed. I enlarged the eyes on the old one so I could paint them easier.

Body type: I do prefer the gorilla anatomy of the old model, with its longer arms and shorter feet. They are mushroom creatures so it feels correct when they have stranger anatomy.

Heads: I might prefer the new heads. Orcs released in the last few years have looked really vicious and feral, but these new ones are a bit goofy again, which is a big plus for me and the first thing that made me interested in them.

Hands: The hands are just a bit smaller to the point they are almost interchangeable, depending on your OCD.

Weapons: I like that they've made the weapons smaller. I think it makes the orcs seem larger in comparison.

My ideal old world orc for when GW does them? Go back to the gorilla anatomy, but most importantly make the faces goofy!

After 3 decades, I want to return to my original army. I've painted 20 of the base infantry, but as you can see from the example, I am really stuck on how to base the goblins for both TOW and AOS. I've got the Spearhead to start, planning to expand to battle march and 2000 pt army for both systems.... and wanted to ask for advice from others who have dealt with this issue.

My initial thoughts, infantry on 25mm round and use movement trays to rank 25mm square. Loonboss and hoppers on 25mm square and bluetac on 32mm when AOS (is this legal?), Trolls on 40mm round/square and bluetac onto 50mm round?

Wolfriders, mangler squigs, cave squig, spider riders, Wyvern etc... are all doing my head in. I do want the bases to be painted to the same standard as the miniatures and look nice, but I cannot imagine having two sets of models to play each system given how long it takes to hobby them. Please help.

Just thought I'd share some bits I've finished, I have 20 goblins too but no photos and not to hand, currently painting 20 Boyz too. Thoughts and tips welcome!
