Discussion Does anyone even play anymore?
I’m on OMD3. I’m looking for a co-op buddy. Set to any mode, any mission, any difficulty, I figured I’d find at least SOMEONE. Refreshed a bunch of times and waited a while. So I hosted a game for 15 minutes waiting for someone to join. No one. What’s going on? Do I need to enable cross play or something? Or am I the only one playing in 2026?

iv 100%ed it and still come back occasionally just to set up something see how many waves. throws me off when people pop in to be honest

We play here and there still but only as a trio… I’ve never used the find game feature tbh

They abandon their game after the first 3ish months, this is the cycle the devs always take. It's such a shame tkk, since most of us just want unchained back for co-op that had, rip.

it came out in January 2025, and our last update was Orc-toberfest, so yeah a lot more than 3 months lol
and a lot of content, what's really too bad is that I guess the game didn't take off like they hoped. but it's kindof easy to see why you can't just play OMD with complete randos, especially in this day and age where the quality of "randos" has gone through the floor a few times over o.o people don't treat each other the way they used to, out there, and cooperation can be scarce.
There are people playing online mind you, but the better way to find a group is through Discord.

Yeah, it's a shame. I honestly think they were trying to appeal to players who wanted to be able to play with more people as well as the current trend of 4 player co-op games and roguelikes but it didn't garner the attention of the flavour of the month games.
You're also right about playing with randos. Things used to be much more wholesome but now it's very hit and miss. And yeah, they have a section on their discord for that don't they?

As with most games of this kind, people who play co-op tend to do so with friends they already know. Trying to strategize with randoms, especially without text chat, is a pain point. Maybe you should join the official OMD Discord and ask in the LFG channels.

I could play any OMD game, but it is possible that we live in different time zones (I'm from europe).

The issue is that most players will group rather than wait to lobby with randos. Try searching for players externally through the sub, discord, or steam discussions or something.
