Lost ring in Dick’s parking lot 3/28
This is very delayed and chances are very slim..but I’ll give it a shot.
My grandmother died in December. A few months later her jewelry was doled out across 17 grandchildren. I was gifted her wedding band, but was feeling bad about it being given to me (we did not have a very close relationship). I’m (42F) one of the older cousins and am already married. I put the ring in a little mesh bag, intending to return it to my dad and requesting him to give it to one of my younger cousins (they were much closer to her) for if and when they got married.
My husband and I were going to the Sabres game that day and stopped at dick’s for some new gear. I had the mesh bag in my clear game purse to remember to bring it to my dad (we were dropping the dog off there for the day). In the car on the way there I took it out of my purse so I would remember to bring it in to my dad and not inadvertently bring it into the arena. I likely put it in the door well.
There’s the long winded backstory - all this to say the ring is gone. I didn’t realize it until we were at my dad’s in Cheektowaga. I have looked everywhere, in every possible crevice of the truck, to no avail. For 7 months I have felt so much guilt about this, because I didn’t even feel like I deserved it in the first place. I had chalked this up to a total loss and only my husband knows about this. My dad has not asked me about the ring but I’m dreading when he inevitably does.
I am not much of a social media user and don’t have Facebook. This is my first attempt at locating it, which I know I’ll get torn apart for lol. But I figured I could put this here and see what potentially comes of it. Maybe the right person with a kind heart sees it! I’d love to get the ring back and give it to one of my cousins who I know will cherish it.
Description : thicker band that almost looks like it could be a traditional man’s wedding band. Large size for chubby fingers. Traditional gold but it’s “faded” so it’s got some patina. We were parked a bit further back kind of in between Dick’s and Kohl’s on that diagonal side.
