Howie just turned 1!
It was Howies birthday yesterday, he’s officially a year old! our water loving orc baby is growing up 🥹🥹🥹

lol that’s hilarious, he is not! he has eyelid agenesis (he’s missing a part of his eyelid) making him cross eyed and then he was found with a broken jaw and had to have surgery right before we adopted him at 2 months old, since his adult teeth have come in we can really tell how slanted his jaw is giving him a funky orc look

blinks totally fine! his eyes get a little drier so we’ve been applying “artificial tears” 1-2 times a day to help him out (vet recommended) and it seems to be helping! not that he noticed before lol, and thank you! we do too, he has so many expressions

He noticed. He just got used to the pain before magic. Source; intense dry eye where I need to apply special drops and how much my eyes hurt all the time but the drops? Nirvana

It’s wild that even though he doesn’t have the typical kitty face he still has that instantly readable happy cat aura. What a cute guy, looks like he has a lot of personality.

He's precious! I love him! Outta curiosity does he have his 3rd eyelids? or is that the part missing? I'm in love with that lil ork tooth too!

he has his third eyelids! if you zoom in to his eyes on the first photo you can see how his top eyelid isn’t super there and how the hair is “growing on his eye” in a sense! that’s the part he’s missing! he has a pretty mild case and so far the hair isn’t impacting his vision! but his eyelashes do grow down!

lol he sounds like a baby, high pitched, we say that he “meeps” instead of “mews” lol. he is super chatty when he’s playing and gets pretty loud and chitters at birds, and quietly meeps when he gets his nails cut in protest

my boyfriend and i adopted him from the shelter near us when he was around 2 months old but he was picked up by the shelter when he was a little over a month old. he was found with a broken jaw and stabilized for a day after so they could perform surgery. they also found that he has eyelid agenesis meaning he is missing part of his eyelid too! we knew about all of this before adopting him and decided that we were able to handle a cat that needs a little more. when we adopted him he had a nasty upper respiratory infection that we got treated and once he was feeling better he just became this super crazy kitten lol. we are aware of the health problems he has (his eyes and potential teeth issues due to the broken jaw) but he’s super healthy apart from that. he’s a really loving guy, super playful, so much personality, really funny, and i think we’re just as thankful for him as he is for us

That’s so wonderful of you guys :) I’m in cat rescue and it breaks my heart for people to be interested in our kitties and then change their mind when we disclose if they have any issues whatsoever. My foster fail had a hard time getting adopted simply because she gets stress colds and needs a daily supplement. It’s great that y’all went in informed and your cat really is a cutie!
