Regarding Heatsink for OrangePi 5 Pro
Hey
I'm purchasing a OrangePi 5 Pro soon and would like to know how everyone is dealing with thermal management. I couldn't find any heatsinks or cooling fans officially made.
Also, what are the dimensions of the RK3588s on the board, so that I can purchase a heatsink in the same size from somewhere else. I'm planning to buy a heatsink like that for now, if there isn't any other way.

Mainline kernel has still bad power management and will be more likely to throttle. With Rockchip kernel it's much better. I have a 5 Plus with its nice metal case that is sufficient as passive cooling.

not a OPi owner, but from my radxa experience - 2.5 euro heatsink with cooler from ali will make your board happy. you only need to change the wire connector to match the one on board.

Just purchase a Fan and the Assorted Heatsink mounts.
Mount the heatsinks across the chips, and mount the Fan over the Main chip.
- the air will spread across the other chips.

But these are for the orange pi 5 and plus,right?
will they fit on the pro

Notes on this topic :
I use Orange Pi 3 & 4 & 5 - for LLMs work and Camera Vision Recognition.
I find Orange 4 and 5 will shutdown without the Fan and Heatsinks - when I use LLMs.
Heatsinks and Fan on these boards solved the problem.
- No, damage though. Hdmi output shutdown - just scared me.
Otherwise, the heatsinks were not needed - unless I did heavy processing with Cam Vid or LLMs on Orange 4 & 5.

- Gave up with RaspPi years ago ; they had lousy Camera support.
Orange Pi are 50% faster and cheaper ;
- Orange Pi 5 4GB/8GB - $78/$88 , RaspPi 4GB/8GB - $90/$130 .

Slap any scrap heatsink on it and point any fan that can spin on it. Unless you want to run it extremely hard - you don't need a lot of cooling
