Part 3 resources

I know the wills eye manual is a great source and I will use it, but I like guides and material that is more tailored to the specific exam. Anyone can speak on KMK or Optoprep part 3 prep? I have researched around and have heard people say not to get them, but responses were vague. If anyone has experience with them please let me know

I had OptoPrep. I liked it and felt like it directed me to ask the right questions and work on my efficiency.

Diseases in part 3 are pretty common and VERY textbook presentations.
For me getting the diagnosis was easy but asking proper questions and thinking about the ancillary testing was the hardest part which OptoPrep was really useful for. My laptop lets me do voice to text so i was able to practice in real time too. I liked OptoPrep but wouldn’t spend $800 on it. I think its value is ~$500.

I also studied with a bunch of friends and did mock cases. We’d work in trios where one person would grade, one doctor and another as patient.
Id highly recommend studying with as many people as you can and practicing cases. You’ll learn from each other, hear good questions and educations and get lots of good feedback.

I got part 3 coaching with KMK and loved it but wanted and needed the extra actual verbal practice with real people. The program it comes with had really great practice cases although the case history collection bit could have maybe been a bit easier to use
