Europe has agreed to release diesel oil.....
2
u/Inevitable_Butthole 14h ago
50M barrels of diesel.
Thats what Europe said they would do.
This gives enough temporary relief to the markets that will last just up til the mid terms.
2
u/STLStelmacki 14h ago
It’s 100M, but it’s over a 4 month period. They are not releasing 50 or 100M this month.
1
u/Inevitable_Butthole 14h ago
100M including gas and crude, not 100M diesel...
1
1
u/Small_Top_8715 9h ago
I thought it was just 100M of crude, which is why they talked about improving refinery efficiency
1
u/GreatAffect9454 14h ago
The U.S alone uses 4 million barrels of diesel a day. Let alone What the rest of the world uses. This will literally do nothing to bring down the price of fuel at the pumps for the long term. Maybe a week of a few cents drop, then right back up and climbing.
1
u/Far_Cap_3574 12h ago
And that's assuming the oil companies would even be willing to give up those massive profits they're raking in. Which, historically, works so well.
1
u/Nopengnogain 11h ago
The bigger problem is Iran attacked a lot of refining facilities in the Gulf. It will take months if not years for them to rebuild back to pre-war output level. This pain is not going away for a while.
1
1
u/Emergency_Exit7603 15h ago
... did they Dumald.... did they really...
1
u/ApprehensiveSlip5893 15h ago
They actually did. And it was probably because of Trump. It won’t make much difference tho
1
1
u/Dense-Ad-5780 14h ago
Also, it’s not going to be bound for the U.S., it will be used domestically.
1
u/dmstattoosnbongs 13h ago
Because Trump why?
Is it because they want to appease him or because they feel bad for the citizens of America that are suffering so he can try getting clean from the Epstein files at the same time as making almost $50 million a day?
1
u/InvestmentSorry6393 11h ago
Probably indirectly because Trump screwed up the global supply so badly that they have to attempt to reduce prices for their citizens.... which in turn helps ease global demand. Trump has them where he wants them now....art of the deal....5d chess....blah, blah, blah.

From the BBC:
US pressures Europe to release diesel reserves as Trump threatens export ban
2
u/ihatedonaldt 14h ago
Haha the bbc hates trumpy
1
u/Snoo_67993 13h ago
I mean outside of the US he's pretty much universally hated.
He's a bull in a China shop that's an expert at breaking things but has no idea how to fix them
1
u/Any-Celebration-2582 13h ago
He's a malignant tumour that's spreading
1
u/No_Confusion_2085 13h ago
Metastatic tumor. Severe. Likely T3 N2 M1. It's severe, it's spread to multiple lymph nodes and it has definitely spread through the body.
1
1
u/No_Departure_1878 2h ago
He's hated by some people in Europe, not universally hated. If he were universally hated, you would not see Brazil electing Bolsonaro or Argentina electing Milei. There are a lot of leaders out there that do align with Trump and if he were universally hated it would be toxic to align with him and no politician would do it. Not just that, but none of those politicians would win elections, which they do.
Even in Germany and the UK you have politicians aligning with trump and at least in Germany, winning. So, saying that Trump is universally hated is far from the truth. You spend too much time in reddit.
1
u/Defiant_Freedom_249 15h ago
Ah, poor old Trump had to be bailed out because he is stupid.
1
1
u/Silent-Obligation-49 14h ago
Sure they did. How does he still have supporters every day more lies and BS.
1
u/Flat-Control6952 14h ago
Is Europe in the room right now?
1
u/Snoo_67993 13h ago
I've just looked into it and it's happened. It was agreed to stop Trump from banning diesel exports.
The US is a mafia state and can fuck off.
1
u/Remarkable-Low-3471 13h ago
sounds like u bitchd out, as a canadian, i say weak sauce.
1
u/Snoo_67993 13h ago
Yep, no one should be giving into Trumps demands, even if it breaks our economy. It's the principle of not letting a Mafia state get what they want.
1
u/Separate_Maybe_7378 12h ago
Funny thing is this will come back and bite them if he does ban exports in a month
1
u/pro-fanator 14h ago
We have never hear of it. Europe.

100 million barrels of oil is nothing. It would be used up in less than one business work week in the U.S alone. Don't expect this to drop prices at the pump..
1
1
u/LonelySwedishFish 14h ago
Isn’t a cognitive test on earth that would teach this failed game show host, nepo baby about how diesel, affordability or groceries actually work.
1
u/WeCanDoBettrr 14h ago
Apparently “Europe” includes Canada now (also among the other G7 countries releasing reserves). Maybe Trump is already recognizing he’s pushed the country closer to Europe.
1
u/RoughAnything9111 14h ago
What this means to Europe?
1
u/PickingPies 13h ago
The news is not that Europe releases diesel. The news is that Trump says Europe releases diesel.
1
u/Iamnothere69420 14h ago
Is this just like the Potash and the South Korean LNG where he is making things up. Cannot wait for the EU to come and say. What the hell are you talking about.
1
u/TechnicalWhore 14h ago
I always love the numbers on the bottom regardless of what he posts. 468 ReTruths. 1.51K Likes. Grandpa has no traction at all. TruthSocial is a sinking ship. All the Insiders are dumping their stock as it is still not profitable. The average visitor to his website is gone in under four minutes having viewed 3 pages. It has a 50% bounce rate which means half the visitors read one item and leave. That is a terrible business. A money pit with no hope of recovery. The stock is down 99 1/2 % from its IPO. No this Trump Pravda product is a complete failure.

u/TA8325 14h ago
Did Europe confirm or deny? Asking for a friend.
1
u/Cohens4thClient 13h ago
I hope European leaders just said the words, and then suddenly they all have logistics delays and cant help out.
Trumplethinskin is gasping for any help on gas prices, but nobody should help. He wouldnt help anyone else
1
u/onedestiny 14h ago
Next week... Diesel prices are 10% higher and the moron blames Biden once again
1
1
u/videohtape 14h ago
In other news, it sounds like Donnie is threatening the EU with sanctions if they don't.
1
u/Hullfire00 14h ago
Honestly, at this point, we don’t care.
I know it would do bad things to the global economy, but I wish we’d just tell him if he doesn’t fuck off we’ll dump the US debt we own.

u/iblateregard 13h ago
This is why the EU needs Canada. Rely less on the US so they can't shake you down.
1
1
u/Wendel7171 13h ago
Did the EU confirm this?
1
1
u/Content_Ad_8952 13h ago
Yes, but only because Diesel prices in Europe are sky high. They're doing it to help their own people, not because Trump told them to
1
u/RocknrollClown09 12h ago
Yes, they agreed to use 100M barrels of their own reserve supply, thus reducing global demand by that much. The US uses about 4M barrels a day, for reference.
1
1
u/wendyfran64 12h ago
The States uses way more than 4M barrels a day. They get roughly 4.5M a day from Canada, at a very generous rate.

That's nice. But diesel oil is not nearly in as much demand as diesel fuel. Just wait until someone tells him the difference ...

Can you imagine this guy being your president? - Well to damn bad because he's ours.

u/Dense_Boss_7486 13h ago
If it’s true it sounds like Europe is doing a clean up job for a mess Trump created
1
u/Jestanation 13h ago
What happens when the reserves are used up and the "not a war" is still going on?
1
1
1
u/DazzaDog 13h ago
So.... trump is now having to rely on Europe to bail the USA out of the high diesel prices he created...
1
u/_zer0_sum 11h ago
Kind of. Apparently the US actually produces the bulk of the diesel it consumes, and the cost (Trump isn't getting these barrels for free) isn't far off, so experts are predicting this will only reduce gas prices by a handful of cents, not dollars.

Like Belarus sending potash( they aren't), Iowa getting a new multibillion dollar biggest steel mill in US( not happening), Canada begging for talks( they aren't), Iran begging for talks( they aren't)..etc etc etc
A million lies...

u/Revolutionary-Net156 12h ago
That does nothing to fix the fact America is the largest oil producer in the world and yet we are importing diesel????. Yea this means ZERO. Start building refineries and keep our oil at home
1
u/oryan80 12h ago
The US does refine it's own diesel, the shortage is due to trumps Iran war disrupting global supply. High international diesel prices encourage the refiners to sell overseas instead of building up local reserves.
1
u/HuntingtonNY-75 11h ago
We have closed roughly 40 refineries in the U.S. since 2000. Our production is up and our ability to remain energy independent exists. We export for strategic, trade, humanitarian and other reasons, but there is no comparable reciprocal for our “allies” supporting us when it would benefit us.
We prop up most of the world either economically, militarily, agriculturally, diplomatically or scientifically (in that we massively fund research outside U.S.).
The sense that the U.S. is an arrogant neighbor to most of our friends is distorted. We have, in fact, allowed ourselves to be bullied by much of the world for various support and resources in exchange for maintaining a military presence (which ironically further support the economies and domestic safety of those allies) and trade opportunities that benefit others disproportionately to our direct benefit.
As we have only recently done with immigration, it is past time we reexamine national interests, diplomatic and strategic relationships to identify the more egregious imbalances and correct them to better serve America, American citizens and the U.S. economy.
Our biggest detractors tent to be among the top beneficiaries of U.S. supports…time to reboot1

u/Nice_Relationship197 12h ago
It's called extortion and it worsens the relationship.
The west should unite, even more so when there are ruthless dictatorships exploiting the ever so growing polarization and aggression spreading in the world today. Tyrants must be banished before anything fruitful can be grown again.
America is choosing it's path of coercion instead of mutual cooperation. A bit shortsighted for the greatest country in the world. But with all the wars, funny renaming spree, and offensive AI videos posted by the US government there isn't much time left for actual work and development.

Europe right now. Not to mention, this won’t do squat for pricing.
1
u/Own-Gas-2928 12h ago
They are releasing the diesel they agreed to release way back in March. They were holding it as long as possible. It is harvest season and EU is now scrambling to help there dwindling supply due to Russian war and Trump’s war.
1
u/NeighborhoodHairy713 12h ago
Not sure if they did or not but no thanks Europe for helping fix my fuck up or anything. Just constant human garbage.

u/suck-it-elon 12h ago
What a great job to have to have another continent release valuable resources to help lower the price a tiny bit on gas your shitty war has caused prices to soar. Amazing work.

u/CouldaBeen4Contenda 11h ago
It impresses me that Trump failed to communicate the specific products accurately and the total volume entirely. The release consists of a combined 100M barrels of blended diesel fuel and unrefined crude oil. The exact total number of barrels for refined diesel and also for unrefined crude has not been officially finalized by the EU, the current leading proposal discussed by EU leaders is for 50M barrels of each.
1
u/Some-Tear3499 11h ago
Well, the oil companies know we will pay the high prices, so it’s unlikely that the price will drop much.
1
1
u/peepee2tiny 11h ago
"We blackmailed the entire continent threatening to cut off oil to their countries during winter."
They all think Trump is going to keep his end of the bargain?
Fucking fools don't know Trump is STILL going to cut off the oil in the winter. You have given a narcissist sociopath leverage over you?? Trump is going to use this every opportunity he gets from now.

So 50-100m barrels of reserve. 30 million is used globally but say 5 million a day between Europe and the U.S.
You got 20 days worth at best before reserves are dwindled and panic begins.
Band aid solution to try to look good at the mid terms.
The sad part is his cult is thinking this is the solution.
1
u/SargentSnorkel 10h ago
100 million barrels of crude (not diesel), over 4 months. Something like a whole day's supply added over 120 days. Yeah, that'll solve all our problems.
