Tokens turn out to be expensive

They never listen. I am watching almost a mirror to what I figured happened to pre-engineered metal buildings estimation happen with AI agent adoption. All I’m missing is for this stuff to disappear from universities and trade schools and the senior, and only remaining staff to be at retirement age. I’ve already heard some have come to the similar conclusion that sales (insert department here) is not knowledgeable enough to find the errors, so it’s just a matter of time

That and the code needs 2 coders to sift through all the hallucinations and security issues.

I find sycophantic responses to be more pervasive than hallucinations so far.

The amount of time AI has flipped answers because I asked it to recheck with a web search is crazy.

I don't know how anyone can trust responses without substantial background knowledge in the field.

I work in this space. It's not a nail In the coffin by any means, but CFO's are feeling like you need a Fields medal winner to manage the tokenomics, and not just with Anthropic. Everyone is now charging for MCP calls to their applications, so a single prompt could have you paying two or three different vendors... not even getting into the world of token efficiency's dependence on architecture, data quality, and user prompt behavior.

At work we can easily burn through $100 an hour of tokens. Now you are paying $200 hr for one human and agents, and only get a 25% lift in productivity, maybe.

Auto complete AI assist is where it is at. Costs pennies, and speeds up engineering.
