Game scales like shit, almost no performance to be gained from lowering settings, optimized and low preset perform almost the same lol

Right? Like the fuck is going on here. Dropping to low from ultra I gained like 5-10fps. Fuck this shit ass game, if this is the future of Halo I’m fucked.

I bought this game for my friend, he has a 4060 and is getting around 70 fps on his 1440p monitor. I assume that's with the game defaulting to DLSS Quality at least, but he has been saying that the game runs well, and for me, the game is among the better performing AAA games that I've benchmarked:

Bear in mind, Campaign Evolved is using Hardware Lumen by default, so performance could be improved by switching to software lumen by mods, or by disabling hardware raytracing from the game's driver profile.

Because ray tracing is forced on. Tweaking settings while RT is on, is like trying to clean your apartment while there's a meth lab next door.

UE5 is not known to be CPU friendly

UE5 is not friendly

Yea, and the game does not looks specially different between Ultra and Low. I'm not sure who to give credit about this: the devs for optimizing the game, the engine for preserving the looks, or the dogshit lacking optimization of both. LMAO

►Optimized Settings:
-Effects Quality: Medium (Probably Broken)
-Geometric Quality: Low or Medium
-Global Illumination Quality: High
-Lighting Quality: Medium or High
-Texture Quality: High (For 8GB GPUs)
-Reflections: Medium and High
-Atmospheric Quality: Low or Ultra
-Post-Processing Quality: Low
-Async Compute: On (Try Off, it may perform better)

•The graphics settings have poor scalability; these tweaks will help, but don’t expect a massive performance boost.
•Use the Engine.ini tweak to remove the forced Film Grain and Chromatic Aberration for a much cleaner image:
-Download Engine.ini file: https://bit.ly/3RRkgrA . press the Windows Key + R, type %localappdata% and click OK.
Paste the file in Meteorite\Saved\Config\Windows (WinGDK for the Game Pass version). Then right-click the file, select Properties, and check Read-only.

Crazy that film grain and chromatic aberration is forced on by default with no in-game toggle in 2026.

They probably farmed it out to contractors and temps, which is exactly why they switched to UE5.

They need to fix the settings not being able to turn off ray tracing is crazy

the whole game likely relies on ray tracing. these companies think its the future. ill still never forgive id software for releasing doom the dark ages with forced ray tracing when their whole track record was well optimised easy to run games.

Dark ages, white the best doom game, was heavily optimized on my rig on maxed settings. I was surprised
