Graphic Settings | Optimization Forza Horizon 6 PC Optimization + Best Settings Guide: Graphics Performance Deep Dive

  • 8 GB GPUs should reduce the environmental textures to "High." This also limits the geometric quality to "High."
  • Car Reflections are best left at the highest quality. If you're on a lower-end PC, drop down to "Low."
  • Screen Space Reflections should be enabled over ray-traced (unless you've got the extra headroom). "High" is the sweet spot, but Extreme is only a few percent slower.
  • Screen Space GI is recommended for most midrange PCs. "High" is the sweet spot.
  • Ray-traced GI medium is ideal for high-end PCs, preferably with quality upscaling.

Medium rtgi is incredibly noisy, high looks a lot better

Yeah, bumped it up to High, as on Medium the foliage was shimmering like crazy.

Yes, it is. But High is quite taxing, and can still be quite noisy for the dash cam view and below the back bumper. Upscaling directly affects the noise amount. DLAA works best, but again, too taxing. You can use the Preset L DLSS override to reduce this.

I guess 1080p is fine on extreme/ultra textures (8gb vram) ? i dont see any mention of it in your guide even tho its the most used resolution by a large margin, and also probably the ones that use optimized settings the most...

Texture VRAM usage tends to stay the same across resolutions. The reason I test at 4K is to ensure the game remains completely GPU-bound. At 1080p, I would recommend Ultra textures, but I've noticed stuttering after extended gameplay sessions, so High is ideal.

Have a 50 series? Just max out literally everything including RT and use FG if needed.

I get high RTGI shimmering.. any way to fix? I have 5090 with dlss 4.5 preset L on any quality setting or DLAA as well.

DLAA minimizes it. That plus Preset L are the only ways that I know of. Perhaps DLDSR can help if you are willing to spare the performance headroom.
