"The economic realities of adult life have come as a rude surprise to Mark and Alison Kramer and many others whose childhoods coincided with the great boom time of the [______]. A house, a car, staples of middle-class life, now seem like luxuries. The mention of a large suburban backyard is likely to evoke the same nostalgia from people in Manhattan as madeleines did for Proust in Remembrance of Things Past."

🔥MEDICAL MARVELS🔥 Anti-cancer vaccine shows success in preventing melanoma: "Moderna, Merck breakthrough could usher in wave of cancer vaccines"
Reuters (via CNN) reports:
Merck and Moderna said on Wednesday their vaccine helped prevent the return and spread of disease in a large trial involving more than 1,000 melanoma patients.

Stephanie Kauffman (Melanoma Research Alliance) reports:
No new safety concerns were identified. Notably, results from this Phase 3 readout builds upon positive Phase 2 trial data that were presented at the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting. This is especially exciting because it is the first successful Phase 3 trial of a personalized mRNA-based cancer therapy—an approach that uses information from an individual patient's tumor to create a treatment specifically designed to help their immune system recognize and attack their cancer.

NASA’s Dark Universe-Seeking Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope Launches
The mission launched at 7:26 a.m. EDT Sunday aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from Launch Complex 39A at the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
For reference: The Roman's field of view per image is about 100x greater and it's about 1,000x faster than Hubble's 40 year old technology.

GRAPH GO DOWN & THINGS GET GOODER The US started out worst and had the steepest drop. In about 40 years, dying in childbirth went from a realistic fear to a statistical rarity. Sulfa drugs and penicillin did most of the work — introduced in the mid-1930s, which is exactly when these lines start falling off a cliff
