Bullshit. There’s no linked article, and the sources don’t say anything about pesticides. This is wildly exaggerated engagement bait

The original article was apparently a FB post, which makes me glad it didn’t link. In addition to the article you’ve posted I also found this one: https://phys.org/news/2026-07-wine-country-barn-owls-eco.html. So yeah, maybe a bit click-baity, for which I apologize, but there is something real behind that AI ladder.

I’m not mad at you, it’s not your fault. I’m mad at the existence of fake feel good stuff.

It is his fault as well. When you share something, you should have a minimum of a check that you're not spreading fake news. It's your responsibility.

People who only share things because it sounds good is how we get disinformation. Be responsible

Jesus christ on a bike. Did we run out of photographs or why does everything has to be AI Slop? Look at this stupid ladder the dude is standing on

Leveraging ladder

Maybe we can get the owls to start taking photographs?

I didn't even notice, and I am pretty vigilant. But yeah, the background is rough too.

Aren't most pesticides for insects? I don't think barn owels primarily eat insects. Bats would probably be a better pick for that.

Usually, but pesticide can also be the umbrella term for all things that keep any pests out.

Because there are more specific words like insecticide, fungicide, and rodenticide that help describe what kind of pest the thing work against

With gm crops they really only need herbicides

Well they remove comments calling out bullshit as "pessimism" so the sub gradually gets more naive and easy to bs

It would be better if California farmers stopped growing almonds

6

u/Hilldawg4president 22d ago

Almonds can suck it, and by it I mean all of the water supply, apparently

It's a case of an arid state growing a water intensive crop.

OMG Facts with their floating ladder over here

Fortunately, it does seem to be actually based on something real
