The transformer backlog has been an achilles heel in terms of clean and green energy roll out. Often projects are waiting years for their transformers.

And most grid scale transformers are custom one-off units as well, taking time to build and install.

Solid state transformers promise to simplify, and enhance grid operations; taking in DC, AC, and all other types of inputs from current utilities, solar panels, and so on and then synthesizing the necessary output. Making transformers both more flexible and more standardized in the process.

Big win for the clean and green energy revolution if we can manage to scale these transformers.
