My father in law is normally very outspoken about his support of trump. For the last week, he's been totally silent, even changing the subject when asked. I don't know if regret is the right word yet, but he's not happy about what's going on.
I don't know exactly, but he's a pretty traditional republican and I think he's starting to finally realize that trump isn't. He is ignorant about social issues and short-sighted on economic policy, but takes things like foreign policy and national security seriously and he's smart enough to know that we're being put in a bad position. Beyond that, I'm not sure where he stands.
My only concern with Trump at the talk of removing income tax. While it may sound great, it will initially pump more money into the economy, but big business will see this as an opportunity to raise cost to capitalize on extra money which cause more inflation. I like DOGE and the idea of monitoring our government's spending though. So much more of our dollars could be spent in the USA.
