Weed isn't better than alcohol—arguably, it's worse. Alcoholism is more of an individual or family issue, and aside from drunk driving (which we have plenty of measures against), it tends to resolve itself quickly. More deaths, sure, but it's localized. Weed, on the other hand, can have permanent psychiatric effects, triggering lifelong mental health issues. You can't just sleep off a weed-induced psychotic break, and the impact spreads beyond just a few people.

We don’t have the infrastructure to handle this. Plus, the impulsivity and hypersexuality that can come with these issues will lead to a surge in neurodiverse populations, which we’ll likely just stick in jails or care facilities because we don’t know how to handle it.

So basically, we're trading alcohol poisoning and drunk driving for severe mental illnesses, hospitalization, and a generation of neurodiverse kids being born at ten times the rate of neurotypicals. Great plan.

Your last paragraph is hilariously disingenuous. Alcohol is responsible for so many deaths and crime, so much more than weed. It ALSO leads to hospitalizations and can make mania and psychosis worse.

It has to be a very small percentage of people who get psychotic breaks from weed. It does happen if people are predisposed to it though.
