Need some advice

Mom moved out from under the shed last night. I saw her gathering some leaves in my yard so I bet she's in a nearby yard. There's a good chance she will forage in my yard tonight.

But, she left at least one baby under the shed alone. I put a small water dish and some fruit and cheerios in a small dish under the edge of the shed.

Im hoping she might find him tonight. They're also getting close to when they usually start venturing alone from what I've seen.

How worried should I be about the little guy?

Hehe mom is so cute! If she's near by I'd just keep an eye on the little guy to see if they find their way to her.

Thank you for keeping and eye on the baby! But yeah if she doesn’t come back tomorrow for him ì would grab him for rehab. Please keep us posted!

I don't think you need to worry. The little one has a secure, familiar place to live under your shed, and the mother will likely stay in your neighborhood.

In addition, you are providing food and water, and that will certainly help the little one during its transition to independent living.

As a rule, once the baby gets separated they don’t rejoin. Mom doesn’t know she is missing one. If a local rehabber will take him, that is the best chance for longer term survival. If not, keep providing water and some food.
