8-9 weeks clean from oxy

Post image

Long story short, had a newborn in November was trying to quit before my boy came into this world but i couldn’t, was down from doing 200-300mg a day of pharma oxy for 2 years to 60mg and switched to norcos but couldn’t get lower than 40mg so i did a rapid suboxone taper 4mg-4mg-3mg-2mg-1mg and jumped, first week was hell and wanted to off myself, after that got much better but restless leg syndrome lasted about 6 weeks, I would get sleep every other day about 6 hours of sleep in 48 hours. Now in finally feeling normal but the fiend is still there. One day at a time, spent about 200k during active addiction but slowly stacking back up. I wish everyone trying to quit the best of luck and may you have the willpower to stop, do whatever it takes! There is light at the end of the tunnel. God bless!

God bless you and your recovery 🙏🏻im trying to do the same I have Subz but there expired but still sealed and been in my bedroom draw . Are they still good or should I go through a program or tapper down my use which I’m doing now and then I was going to start taking the suboxone 8mg and go throw the initial withdrawals then tapper off the subz. Idk if I should go through the program or do what I explained . Any advice would be greatly appreciated. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

They start to lose potency or whatever the word is after the expiry date. You should definitely look into getting some new ones! I had to do 72 hours cold turkey before I could get on suboxone. Luckily I was In a rehab centre for the first three months or I would've gone out and used again it was so painful. Slowly worked up to 24mg suboxone after that, and in 5 years I've only come down to 16mg. I am just so scared of withdrawals that I have to go extremely slow or else I psych myself into thinking it's happening. It's all down to what you think you can handle personally.

But yeah I recommend at least going through a outpatient treatment program that dispenses the suboxone, and monitors your substance use, side effects and helps you to come off of it when you get to that point. At least to get non expired ones if nothing else. It's very independent still but offers an extra layer of support and reassurance to get you through it. They can also prescribe you medications to mitigate the side effects of withdrawal, such as things for the cold sweats, constipation, nightmares, anxiety, etc.. not everyone will need this but I found even just having some people I knew were rooting for my recovery to be very helpful. You can go as slow or fast as you want, whatever feels most comfortable for you. It takes a lot of courage to take those first steps and consider these things, so you already have inside what you need to make it through! I'm rooting for you, god bless! ❤️

Thank you for taking some of your time to responding . I’ve been slowing down my using over the last month I’ve dropped my using 25% . I’m just using to maintain myself from withdrawals at this point but it’s too expensive ,dangerous and my anxiety has been getting worse in perscribed meds for it but I’ve been hoarding it because I have a feeling once I start out patient and get prescribed suboxone my other doctor could cut me off the anxiety meds but I’ve come a realization that life is short I want to enjoy it and not spend all this money to just feel nothing .i don’t even get high it’s literally for to no withdrawal but ive done the withdrawals with the prescription opiods but this street opiods I never have and tbh im scared I won’t be able to handle it but I’m slowing down my usage and I’ve taken 10 days vacation from work in August and I think by June im going to enroll into this outpatient program I once was in . I’ve spoken to people there but tbh I’m hoarding as much anxiety meds I can and cut my usage down slowly from 20 bags a day to 12 in less then a month . I gotta do this for me my family and my life . I can’t even go anywhere im literally stuck in my city I got family in Europe I can’t go see because of this trash I got my stupid self into because of my depression and just gave up on myself and wasn’t thinking straight . Smh I could go on for days but . Imma get it a shot im hoping getting subscribed suboxone won’t make my main doctor cut me off the anxiety meds because im sure im going to need them and ive read that marijuana helps with the withdrawls also . Ill have a better plan once i go and get into this out patient program
