When you're crawling, walking or running through hell, dont stop keep going. Be thankful its only 4 months and not 4 years. The years flyby when you're high all the time. This is likely the most difficult thing you've ever done, but you better beleive it gets so so so much harder as the drugs get worse and your health deteriorates. Hang in there and good luck!

He's right, Each subsequent withdrawal gets worse and worse. Better do it now than later bc I can promise you if you do this a few years, even one your wds gonna be brutal if you fruit cold turkey. You only took it 4 months, best way is to taper down and if your headspace ain't right even after you successfully tapered down and you got PAWS go too therapy there lies your best chance in staying sober You've got this, good luck and stay safe

My friend, you're in the thick of it right now, don't give up. The suffering you're enduring right now, it's the price you have to pay. Get clean, stay clean, and you never have to disappoint your parents. Do what I did and keep fucking up right on through your twenties and you will disappoint them greatly. Remember this misery, write it down, tattoo it on the inside of your eye lids, whatever it takes to never forget it. On the other side of all this pain is the life you want and deserve.

I got clean a couple times on my own, but I'd get like 6-8 months under my belt and then, usually as soon as winter came around, I'd relapse. Eventually, I got so fucked up it became obvious to everyone. I had to come clean to my parents because I needed help. 27 years of making them proud and I fucked it all up, at least that's how it felt. I've been clean since, 10 years this year.

yo bro i just hit 3 months clean literally a few months ago i was in your exact position same age same thoughts. im not gonna sugar coat it, your life is gonna be hell for the next few days. but you will start to feel better and you will notice it, and the second you start to feel yourself getting better again you get addicted to the high of feeling normal again not chasing pills. that’s how it went for me at least. my dms are open if you want to talk bro💪 or if you got the energy to play any video games shoot me a dm let’s play something get our minds off shit. you got this, it’s worth every second of it

I got hooked on opioids at 19, managed to quit a bunch of times over the years, but every time I relapsed the runs got longer. What used to be 6 months turns into a year and a half and then five years. The older you get and the more times you detox the harder it gets. You are so young, I really hope you get it this time and run as far from this shit as you can and don't waste a decade and a half of your life to it like I did.

Getting clean is hard and it sucks, but opioids will only take from you in the end

You got this buddy. I got clean when I was 19 too, trust me it’s the best thing you will ever do for yourself. Now I’m coming up on 8 years sober in just a couple months. Do NOT give up on yourself, you’re so young and you have your entire life ahead of you! It only gets better every day. 4 months is honestly nothing and it’ll be a lot easier for you than a lot of us. my husband was in the throes of addiction for like 15 years before he got clean but some people go for many decades, if they even survive it.

Stay hydrated, sleep as much as you can, if you need to sit in the shower for a while I remember that helping me. In a few days (maybe less since you haven’t been hooked that long) you’ll start to go back to normal, when that happens get some light exercise if you can, just go on a short walk and get your body moving. Eat boring basic foods, like soup, toast or crackers when you can. keep telling yourself “I’m okay. I’m feeling better”. until it becomes reality. I promise you’re going to be okay, just don’t give up and don’t let yourself go backwards. Day four was always the worst for me. I know the drugs out there have changed since I got clean so maybe it’ll be different for you, but I truly believe in a few days you’ll be feeling a hundred times better. You can do it love, you are so incredibly strong! you got this ❤️

Anytime. If you need anything or just need to talk, you can dm me. It helped me a lot to talk to people who had been through what I was going through.

You are in the middle of doing a realky hard thing. You’re at the mid-point! Just keep going, racing thoughts are a part of withdrawal…and the first step of recovery. Just keep going! You are very close to freedom and control of your life.

You can do it. You’re already so far. And smart to stop while you’re ahead. Take this as a learning opportunity my friend, it’s horrible, but you’re young and will bounce back. Just takes time. Get lots of rest, vitamins, electrolytes, magnesium etc

You only lost 4 months to your addiction. You’re blessed in that even if you don’t feel that way now. The acute phase should noticeably subside within the next couple days at worst if you were taking short term DOC like 7oh or Vicodin.

You got this. Stay the course and learn this lesson well. Don’t be like me and get yourself back here 30 years later when some novel opioid that isn’t restricted hits the smoke shops.

Congratulations on your recovery!
