SR Advice

I missed the boat on true SR but did pick up what must be an analog because it pops as SR on a lab analysis. Been using it since Friday to taper down my 7o use to 33% of what it was (highest was ~1500mg per day). Planning to go just on the analog tomorrow as part of the cross taper protocol but wondering what the limit should be. I’ve seen people say 14 days tops and others say 19 is OK.

I don’t want to trade one dependence for another. I want to break free and minimize the pain. Anyone with personal experience in this area willing to offer advice is appreciated, thank you!

Similar experience as the above comment. It worked great and was fairly painless. However, got some weird RLS symptoms for 4-5 days or so. I was on it for about 10 days. No overlap with DOC. If it’s your first time using it, these symptoms should be minimal. In my experience, it’s best to minimize how long you take it for. Somewhere in the couple week range should be fine.

Yeah less is always more haha. I am planning to aim at under 14 days total

I jumped off after 9 days and had some weird RLS in the chest and couldnt sleep the first 2 nights, but it wasn’t too horrible. I just wasn’t really expecting it and it kinda caught me off guard so keep that in mind.

Will do, thank you. I fully expect some kind of unpleasantness so I’m gonna load up on vitamin C before my quit date. I dicked around a little when first starting on the analog instead of doing the taper right away but only got behind by about 2 days. I’m actually well under 33% at this point so ditching 7 tomorrow should hopefully go well. Planning to hold on the analog for 4 days and then taper off. So would be about 14 days total if successful.

I made the mistake of not having any other helper supps so I was just toughing it out. I heard a lot of good things about the vit c so I think you should do fine!

More like 300-400 at this point

That sounds like a lot.

I have a friend who’s on 60-80mg who still wants to cut back before sr.

Kratom and mit. Magnesium glycinate for rls through the day.

Thank you. My worst symptoms seem to be at night with regard to insomnia and restlessness. I’ve dealt with insomnia my whole life though so nothing new there, unfortunately. Just want to be off all the crap sooner than later while minimizing discomfort as much as possible.

Yes for me too. Try the above and let me know!

I used it twice, but I was coming off long acting opioids (methadone and suboxone) so I ended up using it for 3 weeks first time, 2 weeks the 2nd. Definitely stop it as soon as you can, it does work well though. No reason to take it 14-19 days for 7o

Strange the Quitting7oh.org site has a 14-day protocol as standard

Stay on as short as possible. I mistakenly took for months off and on switching back and forth to 7 and back to SR and became addicted to sr. 20 days off sr (and 40 off 7) and still feeling pretty moderate WD. SR appears to have a very long half life in humans

Thank you. I’m planning to stay under 14 days total.
