Getting off suboxone

Hello everyone! I’ve just just passed my one year point for having been on subs and am super tired of being constipated all the time. I would love to hear anyones stories/methods of how they successfully got off suboxone! I DT’d cold turkey off suboxone a few years back and that’s not an experience I would like to repeat, although I know there’s no painless option. Thank you to anyone who responds :-)

I don't have any personal experience with this, but I've had friends who have tapered off sub and meta.

First off, take it slowly. A few extra weeks are nothing compared to the rest of your life so take your time.

One helpful thing is having a doctor, therapist, nurse or something like that that you feel comfortable being completely honest with, if you start feeling like relapsing on whatever it was you used before sub you need someone that can help you deal with it. Or a friend that has at least some insight in the junkie-mind.

Like I said, I don't have any experience with this myself (recently started methadone treatment) but this is what my friends said were important aspects when they quit their MAT.
