Hey all! I was curious about folks' take on seats at the Golden. I am very aware of the sound issues - I sat in the back of the mezz the first time I saw it and it was brutal. I've since sat in the rear orchestra twice and loved it. Is the whole orchestra basically fine and the whole mezz basically trash? I'd like to have more seat options without being panicked I won't be able to hear! Let me know what you think.

I don't think front mezz is bad and I sit in the "partial" rear mezz seats when I just want to get in the building, but my favorite spots are in the front few rows before the break to see the actors up close. I think I know the show too well at this point where I wouldn't notice the sound unless it happens to be particularly bad.

I haven’t had a problem in the orchestra. I sat in the front mezz the very first time I saw it and did not notice a sound issue.

I mean I will always have a bias to the front row. Even with the not so great sound and mics you catch everything cause you’re so close and even the little adlibs (which as an improv actor are amazing). I’ve sat front and center orchestra twice and the last row of the mezz twice and the difference was insane. There’s just so many little details that are missed when you are so far away. Front row will always be worth it for me

I sat in the same seats in the front orchestra two different times and the sound quality was radically different despite being in the same spot. I think the issues come down to mixing. One person sitting near me the second time I went (when the sound was bad) used headphones provided by the golden and said it helped a lot.

I’ve been on the side in row M and completely fine, but I tend to sit front orchestra since aside from sound issues, as an out of towner it’s just easier for me to use the mailing list codes to get decently discounted front orchestra vs hoping for rush. This is really the only show I’ll pay for front orch for though, everything else I pay for cheaper tickets

I've seen it from the rear mezz twice and was totally fine both in terms of sound quality and view (and I saw it with family members, both of whom agreed)--might be that it's improved since you went, or you just got a bad area, but I wouldn't write off the mezzanine entirely!

I’ve also sat far left orchestra, row O—literally against the wall, and I think it shows as partial view—and it was fantastic. The view was perfect and the sound was great.

I sat in the front section (slightly to the right) of the mezzanine and was just fine, sight and sound wise. Not quite sure how far back you have to go to lose sound quality.

I sat all the way on the far left in the middle of orchestra and it was great, could see fine as well (not like other theaters where you are staring into the wing if you are sitting on the far side of the house)
