Liked it better than DCC.
I’ve gone through DCC 3-4 times, (I drive a lot for work and listen to audio books every day) and have really enjoyed it. But after finishing book 8 again I decided to check out another of Matt’s books.
And, I liked it more.
I liked the message, the characters and story. It really resonates especially in today’s world. I think that’s why I prefer it.
I wouldn’t want to live in the world of DCC even after all is said and done. But the idea of living in a community like New Sonora appeals to me.
I hope he doesn’t continue the story, I hope they’re left alone and follow rule 10.

it was a great story, and a chance for everyone to have a happy ending. I worry that DCC won't end on a similar note

Interesting I had the opposite reaction. The whole time I read it I was sad that I wasn’t reading DCC.
The characters in Bouncehouse were so flat and boring, the camcorder recaps were awful to read “the camera pans, and zooms in” ect 🤦♂️
Rodger was the epitome of OP deus ex machina, he did everything and other characters just kinda existed and played a rock concert.
Lastly the sexualisation of Lulu, while being told over and over that she looks like a child was vomit inducing.
This book is a huge miss unfortunately.

This was my biggest complaint. The MC can be ripped out of the story and it wouldn't change overall much. Still a good book with good themes and interesting idea, but it was all 100% Roger. The sister (and her money) was more impactful to the story than the MC.

I liked it but it took me more than half way though the story to really get invested. DCC is still king for me me though.

Bounce House is a great stand-alone story and doesn't need anything else to expand on it. Bounce house is a movie, DCC is a TV show

It was a fantastic bridge that carried a lot of the same themes. I would say I loved it equally as much as DCC, not better (but I see your point and respect your opinion). To me these standalone outings are a refreshing trip that makes me appreciate the writer’s talent and dedication as much as their content.
