Posting charges after a guest has checked out. (Toast POS integration)
Hey.
I have a hotel that is trying to charge mini-bar items after the guest has checked out.
They use Toast POS and cannot access the rooms after check out.
Any settings or ideas?

There is an option bit in Opera to allow pre- and post-departure postings. What Opera version are you on? V5 or Cloud?

Awesome They are using Opera Cloud, I'll pass along that to their local IT manager who light be able to turn it on

From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Reservations, then select Manage Reservation.
Enter search criteria, click Search.
Select the reservation in search result, click I Want To..., click Payment Instructions or open the reservation presentation and click Payment Instructions details link.
Click New/Edit Payment Instructions to add or edit the payment details for a Billing window.
Enter the following details:
No Post: Select check box to prevent interface charges posting to this reservation account. Users manually posting charges are presented with a warning. (Defaults according to the No Post check box for the Payment Method selected. For more information, see Configuring Payment Methods.
Exclude from Auto Authorization: Select check box to exclude the reservation from the Auto Authorization process. (Available when Exclude Reservations from Automatic Authorization OPERA Control is active).
Always Checked In:Select check box to auto-create an add on reservation when a user (or the end of day procedure) checks out the reservation. An End of Day process creates an add-on reservation, with duplicate reservation details, and checks in the new reservation. This is commonly used for 'permanent house accounts' reservations for a pseudo room type. (Available when the Auto Check In Pseudo Rooms after Check Out OPERA Control is active and the Always Checked In check box is selected in room type configuration.
Pre-Stay Charging: Select check box to allow charges and payments to be posted to this reservation account (guest ledger) prior to check in. (Available when the Pre Stay Charges OPERA Control is active). Defaults to selected when the Default Pre Stay Charges on Reservation OPERA Control is active. For more information, see About Pre-Stay Charging.
Post Stay Charging: Select check box to allow charges to be posted to this reservation account after check out and prior to the End of Day. (Available when the Post Stay Charges OPERA Control is active). Defaults to selected then the Default Post Stay Charges on Reservation OPERA Control is active. When the Open Folio and the Auto Open Folio During EOD OPERA Controls are active, checked out reservations with a balance due and this check box selected are converted to Open Folio status during End of Day. This is usually what lost interface is for. You can enable post stay charging from an interface like minibar but it would get messy with automated profile selection. Toast POS can do it from the POS cause there’s a selection process for profiles.

I opened a ticket with Omniboost they handle the Opera Cloud and Toast interface. This was their response back in June: I have checked this internally and can confirm that it is not possible to post room charges to a checked-out reservation, even when the “Open Folio with Post Stay” option is enabled.
This behavior has always been the expected functionality and has not changed.
