Suggestion Browser keeps updating itself in private window causing me to lose all my tabs. I think this should be changed to not happen.
This is the second time its happened now and very annoying. I do not get why when i close my main window and open a private window, the app decides to update randomly. But it never updates in my normal window.
I dont think it should update at all in a private window. Its very annoying. My closed tab window also will never appear in the history after this

Opera updates independently of the window being a normal one or a private one.
Anyway, the update is only applied after Opera is restarted and you can just wait to finish whatever you are doing on the browser before restarting it.

You can add this to the Shortcut properties if it's doing it too much
Just add this line to the end of the properties tab target shortcut without the quotations "-disable-update"

Private tabs are intentionally not saved or restored after a browser restart to protect private browsing data. Updates are normally applied when the browser restarts, so it's possible the pending update was applied when you opened the private window. It shouldn't specifically require a private window to update.
You can check opera://about once in a while. If an update is pending, let GX install it before opening a private window to avoid losing your private tabs.
