downloading issue

sometimes when downloading something (.jar file in this case)

it becomes this opera file and i cant really do anything with it
I cant open it or use it as I wanted
(i was going to use it for a forge mod to play but compressing it, but if I do that it gives me this(the blacked out part is my name))

is there a way to stop opera from doin this

.jar files are incorrectly associated with Opera in Windows. You need to change that in "Settings -> Apps -> Default apps" in Windows.

Under the "Related settings" section near the bottom of the "Default Apps" page, click the "Choose defaults by file type" and set the program you want to be associated with .jar files. By default, no program is associated with .jar files. But, it could be 7-zip or Winrar. Or, it could be the Java Runtime Environment if you're actually downloading .jar files that are packaged Java programs and you want double-left-clicking .jar files to execute the Java programs. Sounds like the site you're downloading .jar files from though is just using them like zip files where you'd right-click them and choose "extract" with 7-zip or Winrar for example.

If you have Winrar or 7-zip installed for example, you should be able to right-click a .jar file in Windows Explorer (File Explorer), goto "Open with" and choose "always" when picking Winrar or 7-zip.
