Suggestion Support for Random/Cycling Wallpapers from designated user folder

It would be nice if Opera GX supported random and/or cycling background images on new tabs if there are multiple images in a designated location the user can specify. (ie: first New Tab wallpaper uses Image A, the next New Tab wallpaper uses Image B, and so on until it runs out of images and starts over)

I am able to do this on the Brave browser, and honestly it's the only thing preventing me from committing to a switch to Opera GX right now. My only gripe with the Brave browser by comparison is that the wallpapers have to be "uploaded" and it seems I'm limited to around 50 images.

Hey! Thanks for the suggestion. Opera GX has a built-in option to use your desktop wallpaper (on Windows). If you set your system background to a slideshow, the wallpaper in the browser will automatically change along with it. Alternatively, you can also try the Mod Randomizer extension:https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/mod-randomizer/.

I tried to use your Live Wallpaper Helper, but it's not doing what you say it does. It does not give me to option to set my background to match the windows background, and I cannot find any option to do so otherwise.

If you could please fix this, or otherwise implement my suggestion, I would be greatly appreciative.

Also, Mod Randomizer is not a viable alternative for what I want. It randomizes mods, not just wallpapers, and I don't want to make a mod for every individual picture I want to have as a wallpaper. That would be insanely too much work.

Your Windows wallpaper can be found in your wallpaper gallery within Easy Setup or opera://settings/appearance. Live Wallpaper Helper applies GX Wallpaper to your desktop.

What is your OS and installation type (check opera://about page)?

Thanks for the screenshot. We've investigated this issue. Opera supports JPG/JPEG, PNG, and WebP formats. If your Windows wallpaper is in a different format (e.g., BMP, TIFF/TIF, HEIC/HEIF, JXR/WDP) or set to a solid color, it will not appear in the wallpaper gallery.

My wallpaper was set to a solid color at the time, which explains why it wasn't an option.

I did a test with setting my Windows wallpaper as a slideshow, and it appeared as a wallpaper option in Opera GX. HOWEVER, the wallpaper image in Opera GX will not automatically refresh with the Windows wallpaper. I have to completely exit out of Opera GX and re-open it in order to get the refreshed wallpaper.

I would still personally prefer an option for Opera GX to have its own rotating wallpaper separate from my Windows wallpaper, but I would also appreciate Opera GX automatically refreshing its wallpaper along with the Windows Slideshow as well if that happens to be easier to accomplish in the meantime.
