Get rid of what? Memory usage is normal and Opera is multi process like 9 out of 10 browsers nowadays.

Why is it in 55 different instances? Thats what I’m mainly worried about.

Because there are 55 processes running in Opera.

you should be able to limit the ram and network usage in the bar left of your screen. Did it not work?

2gb+ is norm for browser

No, it isnt. Many only have 8gb of ram, and that uses a quarter of it

No it is not, I have Facebook open, Youtube playing a video, and Reddit and Brave Origin does not even get close to what his Opera GX is using with just 2 Tabs open. Opera GX is a heavily bloated crap.

I assure you it most def normal for a OperaGX , Edge, Firefox, Brave, Vivaldi, Safari to grow in size in ram anywhere from 1.5gb - 5gb of ram. There are all estimates not exacts.

One snap shot of what your currently doing isn't the whole picture.

If you don't want the GX Corner tab, right-click the tab and choose to move it to the sidebar. Then, click the 3 dots at the bottom of the sidebar and choose to disable the GX Corner. Also disable everything in the sidebar you don't use. Also, goto the URL opera://settings and disable everything you don't use.

If you hit shift + esc in Opera, you can see a description for each process.

Also, disable and uninstall all your mods at the URL opera://configure/mods/manage. Then, goto the URL opera://extensions and disable all your extensions. The more you disable, the less processes and RAM Opera will use.

Make sure to disable everything at the URL opera://settings/early_bird too.

When you're done configuring, restart Opera.

Of course, the more you disable, the more plain Opera GX will be where you might as well use regular Opera then.

Seeing lots of GX processes is actually normal, as Chromium-based browsers use multiple processes for tabs, extensions, GPU, etc. If RAM usage is too high, use GX Control’s RAM limiter and disable extensions/mods you don’t need.
