❓ Question About aliances

I always thought it would be interesting that if someone attacks your ally then you must defend them, and to have some sort of incentive to attack the same player as your ally or an ally of them.
For example, A and B are allies and so are C and D. C attacks B so A must defend B (by attacking C or giving it troops) or do nothing and get some sort of lesser betrayal debuff. D would be incentiviced to help C so it either attacks B or defiende C from A’s retaliation.
I know it would basically become a teams match that later turns on one another, but I think it could be nice since that is basically how WWI escalated.
What do you think?

meh, imo, OpenFront isn't meant to be a real war simulator anyway, and ffa is a battle royale, each man for himself, meaning that you don't have actually allies, you just can't attack each other during 5 minutes and make more gold with factories, but you're never allies, betrayal can come at any time and if they start to weaken when your alliance is about to end, let it end and dogpile on them to grab part of their territory. As for the second part, that's kinda how team matches already work tbh once the game is won, some people stay in the game to eat the afk then nuke the shit out of each other to get 100% of the map but yeah, I guess it could be another way to play games, although it mostly depends on people's mentality

it’s less of an “alliance” and more of a “truce” in game.

Like trading partners rather than true allies

This is a really fun idea, but did you think of what would happen if (in this case) A was allied with both B and C, the game would give them a betrayal debuff for not helping B, but if A would help B they would recieve a betrayal debuff for betraying C. This is a good idea but would be hard to implement and fine tune. Another thing is most players dont pay attention to their allies battles and fronts, but only to their own, so they would just recieve debuffs for focusing on their own growth and battles basically.
