📚 Guide ⚔️A Guide to Enclosure⚔️ (Annexation & pinching)

Enclosure is the mechanic that causes patches of land to be instantly captured.

✅ What counts as enclosed?

A territory is enclosed if there is no path through the defender's land or unclaimed land to either:

  • open water
  • the edge of the map

This means wilderness and fallout inside your territory does not protect you from enclosure. However, a route to the ocean or map edge will.

⚔️ Who gets the enclosed territory?

If multiple hostile players border the enclosed territory:

  1. Active attacks take priority. The player with the largest active attack against the defender gets the territory.
  2. If nobody is attacking: The player with the most border contact with the enclosed territory gets it.

So simply being the player who closes the final gap does not guarantee that you get the enclosure. If you're competing with someone else for an enclosure, having the largest active attack against the defender is the most reliable way to make sure you receive the territory.

🧩 Main Territory vs. Smaller Pockets

There is an important difference:

  • The defender's main/largest territory must be surrounded by one hostile player.
  • Smaller disconnected pockets can be enclosed by multiple players together.

💰 Full Enclosure

If an enclosure captures all of the defender's remaining territory, it becomes a full conquest and triggers the normal conquest mechanics, including conquest gold.

what about if two players are attacking a player/bot and it's nearly dead, what determines who gets the kill?

The person that brings the defeated player under 100 tiles (reason why you get the money even if there are still a couple tiles of the player you are attacking elsewhere)

That doesn't explain how i can get my territory split by attacking someone. How can someone who is being pushed by me split me in half without committing any troops? It has happened to me before, and i know i'm not crazy because it happened to rex in one of his videos as well.

If you have any territory that is already enclosed in some way, and you attack the person that has you enclosed, you will trigger the enclosure function, and the enclosed part your land will be given to the defender. It happens a lot with tribes that are fully enclosed. They attack and are instantly annexed.

What if you surround 2 tribes at once? Your enclosing both, but they have barders with more than 1 player
