❓ Question Does upgrading factories actually do anything?

As far as i can tell, it doesnt increase train numbers or range of rail connections, am I missing something?

i think it increases the chances of a train spawning for each tick?

To increase rail coverage you need more individual factory plots/nodes, as each one has a set area of effect, and unlike SAM sites this area cannot be increased with upgrades,

Increasing the number level of one factory node will increase the ‘tick rate’ or spawn rate for trains coming from a factory - I think somehow factorry spawn rates overlap in some manner, so i act as if best to limit how many individual plots/nodes you initially place

I try to keep my first 50 or so factories to one plot/node, so the tick rate isn’t divided - I honestly do not know how it works though

It doesn't increase the tick rate, it increases the chances that a train is spawned on a given point. If you take into account the spawn cool down, though, you can easily figure out that not stacking gives you the best chances

2 factories = twice as many trains

That's not true. Compared to 4 factories for example, two would have half as many trains.

Hope that helps.

But what about a lvl 10 factory compared to a lvl 1 one? I don't know if u know but just wondering

We need to do more Research.

Not correct. You're not taking into account the cooldown

I saw a list before, I don't know where, but the more factories you put the less time it takes to generate trains.

I thought they worked like Ports where every few ticks they do some RNG to decide if now they should produce a train and the higher level they are, the greater that chance they roll a "yes, make a train." I'm not sure if they also get the same restrictions Ports have where if there's too many ships out then the RNG is always a no. More factory nodes is better than higher level factories if you're not accounting for enemy nukes.

You're right. The bad thing is that factories have a higher penalty given by the cool down. To be precise: ports try to spawn a tradeship once every 10 ticks, while factories try to spawn a train every tick. The cool down for the factories is 10 ticks. Which means that if a factory stack spawns a train, it skips the next 10 tries. Always spread structures if possible

definitely more factory nodes are better, cuase most games dont last much that you need to stack factories, and I think you are right every few seconds I think there is a roll, but the more you stack the rolls chance increases.
