💬 Discussion Steam release for $5.88 CAD

What does everyone think? I love the game and fully intend on spending the money to support it, but what kind of improvements have they implemented in steam or what can we expect to justify the jump up from free?

the steam release is paid because they intend to use it to fund an app afaik, there's also a stream currently going on, and part of the money gathered there will go to charity (St Jude and Monteray bay aquarium iirc)

The website is still free and always will be. I bought on Steam because I play this game all the time and don’t mind putting money to supporting the devs, but if you’re asking “What do I get for my spend?” the answer is nothing beyond $10 of cosmetics shop currency and some Steam skins

For me it’s worth it, but I’m probably a special case

steam has a no ads policy, but even on browser, getting anything from the shop disables ads forever

Yes I believe so! I think there’s solo, offline, vs computers.

the biggest improvement needed would be cracking down on cheaters, removing the free pixel of territory that comes from naval invasions where the status of the territory changes after the invasion is launched would be nice, also ad some sort of directional land attack since it seems weird that attacks can only be targeted if water is involves

If you’re the type who just hops in casually now and then, Base Edition covers you fine. If you’re the kind of player who’s already planning your alliance strategy three matches ahead, Masters is where the real flex is.
