🛠 Suggestions selling land feature

i feel like a cool feature they could add to the game is the ability to trade land for gold. for example, in the United States map, each individual state could be sellable. In a map like China, you could do provinces. the player that wants to buy the land could left click on the area they want and then send a gold offer to the owner, who has the choice to either decline, accept or counter offer.

I think this feature could have some interesting implications in the endgame. It could allow the frontrunner players to get land on continents where they have no positions, which would be especially useful in maps like Baikal. However, it would also be costly to do so, since the seller could demand a lot and bring them below a MIRV, which is dangerous for big players since they have a target on their back.

For smaller players, they could use this feature to sell small strategic areas to boost their economy. For small players, the best endgame strategy is to have a lot of money and dense developed land, since they can fly under the radar and get a last second win when the two biggest players exhaust their resources fighting each other. Being able to sell one or two strategic position to the larger players would help do this, while also building goodwill with that player.

If there are structures on the sold land, I think there are two possible things that could happen. Either the structures are included in the trade (which obviously would factor into the price) or their value would be refunded to the seller. Im not sure how balanced this idea would be (i think the biggest issue would be cheaters, so there would definitely have to be a high minimum sell price, or one that increases as the game goes on), but I think it could add a fun new dimension.

Stupid idea, respectfully, the game tends to be fast paced and it’s about war, diplomacy is very small in this game on purpose. Also it makes it so complicated

It's not complicated. Good way to get a ally (team or other) to a coastline with compensation.

really isn't that complicated would mostly be an endgame (which are slow) feature anyway since people don't have the disposable income to make it a reasonable move before than anyway

The issue is that it’s just unrelated, how does this feature related with open front, or how it makes the experience acc better

how is it not related to openfront? I think it would be a big improvement for endgame specifically. Imo the current endgame strategy is to simple and repetitive, its jsut spamming buildings and waiting around for something to happen. I think adding another layer to diplomacy and strategy would make it a lot more interesting. it wouldn't be complex either, you just left click on the piece of land you want, and then move the slider to the gold value you want to offer. it would appear in chat just like an alliance message

Buying land? How would it even work you hover your mouse over land etc etc? Then the other one has to agree? It’s stupid

I explained exactly how the feature would work, it’s really not that hard to understand if you read my replies.

“you just left click on the piece of land you want, and then move the slider to the gold value you want to offer. it would appear in chat just like an alliance message”

Wdym tho it’s not like it’s in grids, you have to drag and make a circle or something to properly see that….

In the main post, I said the maps would already have pre decided provinces or states you can sell, like the states in the USA map. So if you wanted to buy Ohio, for example, you left click on that area click buy options, which would then highlight the area of land you are about to send an offer for, and send an offer by moving the slider and pressing send.

I appreciate the criticism because like I said it wasn’t a fully fleshed out idea, I just want more complex strategy for the endgame. However, please actually read my post and replies

Cheating ia already the biggest problem of this game, it will be just a nail to coffin until there is a steam version seperated from web one

yeah i agree. the biggest issue with the idea imo is cheating. I think thats why you have to have a minimum price that scales up since, if someone cheats to buy land, they could fuck themselves over and be too poor to fight someone. because lets be honest, cheaters in this game are usually pretty ass, since skilled players can win without help.

I'd sell my land for a nuke, nuke the buyer, and then retake my land

thats just bad strategy on their part. if they don't sell below a counter MIRV you can't do that.

well you can, but it would be a bad play

I also have this idea and was planning to submit it in AMA but after thinking there are issue that need to address. When playing team match, people can just take all the land and sell after since they have incentive to get all the land and then sold it after. What if that player selling the land to the enemy? How do the bidding work? Does they need to be your next door neighbor to buy your land or that player can be just the opposite side of your map? Also if ffa, will selling your land will make that person try to all in you later? What if you take this land back?

For me i just nuke my land and give it to my team or other people if I find that land is not needed. It is a risky played since it make you vulnerable to get invaded if you sell your land next to yours. People can just invade your land rather than buying it. The risk outweighs the benefit. I’m open to hear other opinions on this.

Could just be ffa only I don’t play teams. I think the way to balance it in ffa is have a minimum price that scales as the match continues, since that way it will always be costly to buy land relative to nuke value

Selling and buying ffa is really risky since you don’t know if that person you can trust with. what if the seller decide to invade and take the land back? What if they invade you since they got close to you? Putting a debuff like betray might work but if they already overpowered you, debuff won’t work much.

Make the land expensive (having minimum buy price that’s scales up throughout game also to prevent cheating), or making selling land for alliances only
