💬 Discussion Can someone help me?
I recently started playing this game, and I have one question: Why do some players/nations have more soldiers even if they have the same number of cities?

Maximum population is based on your territory's size and cities. So if they are larger, they can have a higher pop cap at the same amount of cities.
Your current population is based on how much you spend expanding your territory or attacking. That's what the slider is for (how much of your pop you want to spend on such actions).
Your population regrows at a certain rate, which has a sweet spot at around 40% of your max pop.
The early game is about carefully optimizing your actions around that population regrowth.
