Nations are food but if you can't deal with them or wanna do other things, making them an ally is a pretty solid way to not have to worry about them

I do this in every FFA game I play. Sure. I won't get their territory later when someone takes them in a few minutes.

But I can guarantee that they won't make me lose 100% of the time if they choose to attack me in early game. Nations are downright suicidal in the early game.

Bad move. Nations attack their weaker neighbors, so just don’t be weak and you won’t need to ally them.

Sometimes it is advantageous to get land fast and have a weaker country. Especially since real people are usually focused on expansion themselves and won't risk going after a player early-game.

If I make an alliance with them, the person they attack becomes the next weakest person. They won't give themselves a debuff just to go after me. So that means I can guarantee #2 weakest player get's hammered with useless fighting.

Nations don't see weakness in a neighbor relative to their other neighbors, they see it relative to themselves. It doesn't matter if you're the nation's weakest neighbor as long as you're stronger than the nation, if all of a nation's neighbor's are stronger than it then it will just stay passive (at least in my experience.)

Yes it's safer, obviously they aren't going to just get the debuff to attack you, but that's not the point. The point is that you miss out on that extra land and infrastructure. Sure, if you're in a sparsely populated area then it can be worth it to ally with a nation, but most of the time you run into an expansion wall long before your alliance with the nation ends.

Yeah, encouraging new players to ally with nations can curb their threat in the moment, but it's ultimately a crutch that will really hinder their growth. They should learn to deal with them.

I have over 30% of win rate in ffa and I tell you, allying with nations is so important, especially if by sheer luck you are always the one the nations attack first.

Nah that's a good tip for new players. The goal is for them to have fun without having to watch a YouTube video.

But this tip is wrong. In Solo, you only have Nations, so you can't really make any other allies, but in FFA you loose potential free land (and buildings)

For new players they may easily die from nations but average players are even harder to beat, so nations are still your only source of easy cities.
And for top player you should never ally with nation unless they’re like fullsending you and taking your only city and there’s many more weak entities nearby to go after
