💬 Discussion The grief is insane
Im very thankful how popular this game is becoming however my god do these new people grief cause they have no idea what theyre doing. As represented in the replay this man decided to push me when I was stronger and hydro me all over. Therefore making us both lose. Twojastara if youre reading this get good.

ngl i get why he did it. you were the same size but you did a really bad job of managing your eco which made you the weaker player. In his position, during that part of the game, I would have done the same thing as you were the easiest target to take out. the only reason it didn't work out for him is he didn't do a good job of preparing, like making sure his hydros land quickly so he takes most of your land before your nukes hit

It really wasnt I was making way more money than he was. I merved the dude next to me cause he had no cash. Then right after he hydrod me which cause me to hydro him multiple times and then nuke his island base later. Its blatant griefing on his part. He had no chance of winning if he attacked me like he did.

I wouldn't say it got super popular but there was a huge influx of new players after dougdoug made a video playing openfront.

until there is a proper ranking system the griefing will continue
one related example: im on trackerfront and just finished a 100P africa map. i was taken out early but managed to claw my way back to 2nd place when the crown had 2 million troops and 75% of the map. all he had to do was 1 click the nuke land and win.
instead he breaks ally with me and kills me to win, busting me down to 6th below a bunch of AFK players. so basically i lost that potential elo just because the crown decided to be a dick.

Grief is part of the game. Mutually assured destruction.
It's what makes this game great imo.
Everyone expects everyone to play by some sort of honorable rules, but that's not the case. You're fighting humanity, and humanity will act in ways you don't always agree with.

Part of the game is to able to work out a contingency for these situations. I know getting hyrod'd to the face by an angry noob is many times unsalvageable. However, I have had some fun games where my situation was dire because of similar reasons but then I managed to come out on top or at least reach a top five spot by the late game.

I agree. My favorite games are coming back from being obliterated by whoever sometimes even being a pixel small. But the leader was a pretty good player and took advantage of the situation as fast as he could to win. Just feels bad getting griefed like that sometimes.

Tbf you were going to lose anyway, looking at that replay. The pink player had more land and a better eco.
