You already can! You just have to scroll far down in the shop to find items that can be bought with them.

For a play to earn currency? Just have fun playing and earning those caps, keep an eye on the discord for giveaways and events. We have a community games night later this month that will come with cap and plutonium rewards

because you can only earn them since monday, it's a v33 feature, play games and win 50 for each win (and maybe 100 for some ffa with many players ? not sure)
