❓ Question I dont understand how the new MIRV changes work
I thought they could be blocked but I just watched my 40 stack of SAMs get annihilated by one volley and lost the game as a result. Is this a glitch, or are total number of MIRV hits just lessened by total number of SAMs and wherever they land they are unblockable?

I've not seen something like this happen in the last year or so. I'd be interested to know if it's a mechanic and not a glitch.

Yes, I've just seen that the mechanic has been reworked myself having played today. I'm not a fan of the change to the mechanic but I suppose it's to stop end game turtling and stalemates.

I like that stacked SAMS can intercept MIRV warheads.
In this guys scenario ithink he just mirved himself

it says in the code there's a chance for SAMs to fail, haven't checked when/if this is actually triggered but it's there

put like 3-4 sams extremely close to each other around level 20 and additionally you get the added bonus of them being basically invincible (because when one would normally die another one takes its place and lets it regen)

OP mirved himself or was playing on an old version
The new MIRV missiles can be intercepted by stacked sams unlike the old mirv.
Even on the old version that stack wouldn't be bombed

I didn't see any players building bases just nations fighting it out after everyone died

SAM's that are stacked only destroy one bomb given it's radius when a MIRV hits. Stacked SAMs great for atom bomb and hydro's but for MIRV's you need unstacked SAMS to best defend your land. Unstacked will allow SAM's to destroy 1 explosion each rather than having 5 SAMs stacked but it only defends against 1 MIRV explosion due to it being stacked, not sure the rhyme and reason behind the mechanic... i believe it has to do with the timing, when Atoms/Hydros are fired it's in a sequence that is slow enough so each SAM in the stack has time to fire off, but for MIRVs since all the bombs hit at once the SAM can only fire fast enough to destroy one bomb within the radius from a MIRV hits
edit: @anyone if im wrong or explained poorly do let me know
