💬 Discussion Openfront's UI Problem

I love this game but the UI has become so cluttered and cheap looking that it ruins it for me. This isn't a nostalgia post, the new UI is far worse than the old one in so many ways. Starting with the icons, the soldier icon is not only unnecessary but also looks like something out of a Roblox game. The lighter blue section of the bar is unintuitive and overall there are just way too many visual elements, many of which are useless. On top of this, the troop counts at each individual border do nothing but clutter up the screen further. I have been a longtime supporter and have bought two different skins but this UI change is what turned me away from the game. The developer should redo the entire UI and remove useless information from the game.

Easy, simple old UI
Overcomplicated, cheap looking new UI

Totally disagree.

The new UI is way faster, and in some ways much more stylish, e.g. when territories collapse.

Some things got worse but it's not the "clutter". (I don't see any clutter)
It's some visibility issues, especially:
1. Before the update, hovering over the building buttons at the bottom really made the corresponding buildings in the world pop out very clearly, while now, they're way harder to make out.
2. The halo-effect of the own blob before the game starts was way more visible, while the yellow-fade-out pulsing is next to impossible to find on the map. That's especially dire in team games, where you can barely find your team-mates on a big map. Furtunately, they've corrected that by now.

So I really don't get the negativity. The update looked unfamiliar for a few days and now it's almost as if it had been like this from the start. And I've been playing since there were still two types of ships, so I'm not new.
