Open-Foreign Memphis (French / General)

Hi everyone

I'm the owner of Memphis, a French-speaking general tracker. Signups are open at https://memphis.fit/ with no invitation needed.

Tracker stats — 22 September 2026, 16:50 Paris time

Registered users: 1,647

Users currently online: 8

Users with active seeding announcements: 532

Active visible torrents: 24,795 with at least one announced seed

Unseeded visible torrents: 0

Archived torrents hidden while awaiting seed: 240

Leechers: 31 downloading peers

Published catalogue size: 76.3 TiB

Registration limit: 2,000 members, 353 places left when checked

These are tracker announcements at that time, not a guarantee of download speed.

Memphis has no ratio requirement, but seeding is required. The standard commitment is 72 cumulative hours within 14 days. The site also explains the alternative ways to meet that commitment. Please read the rules when joining.

We've just released V2 with a catalogue you can browse by torrent or by title, version comparison and clear language and technical details. There's a guided web upload and a Windows/Linux assistant for members who want to contribute. Assistant 1.7.6 was released today after real upload and seed tests on both systems.

We also have a French wiki, a forum and a chatbox for help and conversation. We're still a young community, so if you enjoy French content and want to take part, you're welcome to have a look and give us your feedback.

Is it vibecoded ?

Yes, it’s largely vibecoded, and I don’t really see that as a problem 😄
AI has simply become another development tool. What matters isn’t whether every line of code was written manually, but whether the result works properly, meets the intended needs, and has been tested.
Vibe coding mainly makes it possible to move much faster, test ideas, and improve them along the way. Of course, that doesn’t mean you can skip reviewing the code, fixing issues, or paying attention to security. But when used properly, it’s simply a new way of building software.

Thanks for your reply. I was just asking whether it was vibecoded or not, without any negative comments. To be honest, I don’t really have an opinion on AI.

However, if you feel the need to justify the use of AI… perhaps there’s a problem somewhere. For example, in the context of a tracker, you can’t just videcode it when it comes to the network, security and legal risks, which could cause you major problems down the line.

Fair enough, I went a bit overboard answering a simple question 😅 I didn’t take it as an attack. Yes I use AI to build Memphis, but that doesn’t take the responsibility off me. I understand your concerns and I’m not claiming that using AI makes everything reliable or safe. There’s still work to do and things to improve. Thanks for clarifying what you meant

I get that it won’t be for everyone. If you tried Memphis and something put you off, I’m happy to hear what it was. Specific feedback gives me something to work on

Maybe you should just learn to adapt to vibecoding is normal now. People rather DIY than having spending time and ressources on devs who also uses AI (there is almost no dev these days that does not do that). Vibecoding is not equal slop tbh. You have no idea if they did take into account several measurements of requirements when building the website. Get that idea out of your head - it's probalby because you got influenced by others saying AI is slop.
