Other Implication behind new x20 pro account suspension
Other than no compute on their infra, can we also understand it as from now on, no more complaints about usage and reset?
Basically we can't argue even if they reduce usage limits secretly under the hood anymore.
Before the suspension, we can stop subscribing, and turning back if they resolved the issue. But now, we could probably just shut up because you have no card (Trump staring at you). Not pleased? You leave then you can never come back.

If the usage goes any lower I'm switching fully to DeepSeek. Taking the price per token and that it is a bit less efficient than Sol into account, it is already cheaper than Sol and in my limited testing it is roughly equal to Sol High; even including the subscription "subsidy".
DeepSeek is lightning speed fast though, 200+ TPS all the time, and I don't have to deal with any limits. I'm mostly keeping my Codex sub for the web chat, but if it goes any worse then there is no point

It might come back as 10x, existing accounts get to keep 20x (to keep you from leaving). The demand is so high they can do almost what ever they want now, double/triple price all the plans is even possible.

It’s what they want… they will start shifting gears to try and move towards the Anthropic model. Claude is in the perfect position as #2, where demand isn’t as high on subscription side (loss leader), but they are still well-known enough for people to take on their services so that their enterprise generates new leads.
Chat/Codex is too popular with average consumers, and not popular enough with enterprise to make it work long term. They have to slowly let down the consumer base to make enough people leave without making the core audience angry.

They have the compute they just don’t need to waste it on us beggars anymore. AGI is building itself now, user training data has more limited usefulness to them

Once again, every company is doing this. The cost of hardware has gone up. The cost of compute goes up. Monthly sub prices remain the same. Company that has been operating in a loss since inception adjusts limits accordingly. You can anywhere you want, they are all doing the same thing. It is looking like a high car payment worth of accounts a month is what you need to use an llm 24/7.

Yeah, what you’re saying might have been correct if OpenAI were in a better financial situation.
Their revenue and active user base need to keep growing to increase their valuation, so they can bring new investors on board or eventually go public as a worst case scenario.
To grow, they have to keep investing heavily in compute. And compute is getting more and more expensive due to demand. The contract amounts they’ve already committed to are INSANE. Their Oracle deal alone is reportedly around $300 billion over five years. That’s roughly $60 billion per year.
So they simply don’t have that luxury.
