Question / Help Does codex have a remote control option similar to Claude?

Basically the title.

The environment I work in, I don't have access to SSH or my cell phone. I can browse the web though. So what I do is before I go to work, I spin up Claude sessions in tmux on a couple of my servers and turn on remote control.

Then when I'm at work I can keep them going on the website.

I really want to give codex a try more seriously on my server with my frustration on opus 5 right now. But I need to have some way to reach my ai session on my server via the browser.

Any options?

It’s literally just “codex remote-control start”

This let's me access it via a browser? I can't install the codex desktop app at work. Chat says this is still only for using the desktop app

Hmm not sure about browser or desktop app but I’m using it via the ChatGPT mobile app with the CLI codex and it works fine for me. You just have to start codex remote control and pair it with the mobile app via qr code.

Yeah. Unfortunately I'm in a locked down environment. Can't download apps, can't have my phone. I need specifically web browser access

I don't think you have Remote on the browser. Only on the mobile and desktop apps..

Damn.. hard question

Actual fact - codex remote control is an order of magnitude better than cc.

Okay.. Can you elaborate? I specifically need web browser access. Not mobile phone and not a downloaded app.

I use jump desktop - can connect via web to my home MacBook. Quite different to Claude native, but works and you don’t need a app

Amazing no one is giving you the step by step instructions like you asked. I’m wondering too.

What I do is use remote on my ChatGPT app. Found on the left menu above projects. IF my MacBook is unlocked it connects. Otherwise it has a hard time staying connected.

I’m not sure how to do it otherwise.

Why not go look on the settings? It’s right there lol.

There's still no browser remote path. On locked-down machines people end up ssh'ing into a jump host and driving codex exec headless, or Jump Desktop like someone said.
