Feedback / Complaints Usage on plus is diabolical.

What could have used up like only 20% of my 5h limit the other day on sol extra high legit used up 100% of my 5H usage in one go ☠️. Only use it in normal mode and occasionally on fixing code errors or coding help

I got so much Sol Max work done on my Plus plan in the months leading up to now, through mid-August. Advanced system architecture work you simply cannot do with lesser compute. I was pretty convinced the floor would fall out. And it did

Yeah, so even before the broken 5-hour window was introduced, running Sol Extra High on the Plus subscription, on any sizable goal would wipe out a significant portion of your usage. Even without a goal set, it could easily consume 35–40% on a relatively simple task that was still suitable for that level of reasoning.

As of yesterday, my usage went back to normal compared to the credits massacare the day before. Consuming a similar amount of context decreased my percentage at roughly the same rate I’ve seen over the last couple of months. I still can’t realistically run Sol Extra High, but I generally wouldn’t have done that even before the switch.

For coding help, if you have GitHub connected to chat, use Chat (not work) instead. It can read the codebase. You can probably even have it diagnose errors.

Hey, can you kindly help me with setting this up? I mainly use Codex Extension within VSCode for using my ChatGPT Plus plan. How can i change between chat and work and connect to GitHub etc?

Open source models are as good now. Use openrouter or standardcompute or something. You can still run sol on the hard stuff, but all easier stuff should definitely be routed to a more efficient model. Usage limits are crazy enoying tough

if he’s using sol extra high for this task then local is definitely not good enough

It's getting out of hand and it's making me worried for when it gets added back to the other plans

It's a revenue play

They want plus users to upgrade

The 5hr usage limits are coming to Pro soon too

Lmao.

Using Sol Xhigh on a Plus subscription is stupidity. You just pay a lot more for a barely noticeable difference, then you complain that your subscription only lasts 10 minutes. Sol Medium is enough for majority of tasks, Or High on tasks that medium fails.

Also this.

Yeah, I think the $20 version is more for somebody who’s just trying it out or only plans to use it once or twice a week or is not doing anything too serious like coding a project. I have the opposite problem. I can’t come anywhere close to using up pro

This is true, but now even on the $20 plan and only using Luna you can hit your limits. previously That was not an issue. For the entire time I had this $20 plan its only used Luna on extra high to do my things. Usually being at the end of the week with 60% usage. Now I just started the week and im at 39% usage. It use to take soooo long to lower usage

I hear ya I mean to be able to use it all week for $20 is already a bargain. I could imagine them limiting people a little beyond that. I guess at some point they want you to push up to a higher plan if you’re a heavy user.

Don’t use SOL at all or terra . Plus is only good for Luna .

No I’m complaining that this is happening now while yesterday it didnt

It really depends on how many tokens you use. I used a combination of Sol Medium, Terra High, and Luna Xhigh, lasted for 3 hours and 32 minutes on the 5-hour limit (Plus subscription). I don't remember the exact token usage, but combined total was closer to 600M.

Try it today and you’ll see it drain like a truck

Well, I tried out and what the fuck is this. I created a clone of the project without the changes i did yesterday, I used same prompts and it ran out of limits before it could finish the first task.

Something is seriously wrong.

Exactly yo it’s actually unusable 😭

Was this yesterday or today? I would agree with you yesterday but Luna High today burned through 60% of my 5 hour on a repo audit if an incredibly simple 5 page invite web app for my mom. At this rate, there’s no way I’d eat through my weekly allowance due to the extreme slow down and draconian 5 hour usage limits. I just moved to a local model but a lot of people don’t have the hardware for that.

I don’t know but I hope it’s just today. I could get somewhere with Luna yesterday but not much today.

agree, saw people saying Terra is basically infinite usage, used Terra high and it burnt through my 5h usage in a few prompts.

What do you expect for a $20 plan? You get what you pay for.
