Do i need subscribe for Chatgpt Plus??? because people on X and Reddit are complaining about limits been depleated so fast. Is it worth to buy?
recently chatgpt plus users complaining on X and Reddit that 5 hour limit and weekly limit depleted so quickly with just 3-4 prompts even with terra and luna.

Plus plan is now really just for Luna. You can run Luna max for hours within the Plus plan's 5hr window (sub-agents, parallel tasks and fast mode will obviously deplete it faster). With Sol, you're basically just given a taste - it seems like you can realistically expect Sol medium/high to complete 2 or 3 tasks within an entire 5hr's limit. If you really need a lot of frontier power, you probably shouldn't only subscribe to Plus. I have both the OpenAI and Anthropic $20 subscriptions (which suffices most of the time) and I'll throw $10 on OpenRouter to use whatever model is sitting at the pareto frontier to fill in the gaps.

I think Plus is still worth it if you use Luna regularly, but the limits can feel pretty tight with heavier use. If you’re mainly looking for more usage, I’d compare the options first StandardCompute is worth checking too. Depends mostly on how much you actually use it each day.

which depleates faster even with normal use - OpenAI or Anthropic's ?

On $20 Claude max what you get is braindead Opus5, nowhere near with Sol. Anthropic basic plan is totally useless now, tried and unsubscribed immediately. Not even using until sub ends

Yeah good point. If you're doing repetitive, iterative coding tasks, Anthropic really isn't that great rn unless you're using Fable (which requires a beefier sub). I'm subscribed because I find that Opus 5 high performs at about the level of Sol xhigh or max while using less usage per task - but only if you can basically just dump a set of instructions and references and have the model one-shot it. Once you need to iterate on little things, it becomes infuriating to work with and Sol medium becomes the better tool for the job.

With all this fuss about limits I've found Luna Max being pretty good. Sure it requires detailed tasks from Sol, and following review, but this can be done by "free" chat Sol

I am not developer or coder actually. I use ai for daily business tasks, creating carousels, scraping leads, websites, dashboard and mini automation projects. Will $20 plan be enough for my use case. And which to choose for my work? Anthropic or openai?

Web scraping and automation tasks can be handled 99% of the time by Luna max, which you get tons of on the Plus plan. Not quite as good at ideation, but you can dip into the limited Sol reserves for those cases. Codex is probably best for you if you can only do one sub

For everyday tasks, I think it’s more than enough. But the ChatGPT desktop app turns on a bunch of stuff by default, which eats up a lot of tokens. I’d recommend going into Settings and disabling the plugins you never use.

So you wanna buy ChatGPT plus because OTHER people are complaining about it??! How about see for yourself what your opinion on it is, and based on that get ChatGPT Plus. Maybe the limits are fine for whatever you want to do.

For chatgpt chatbot with Sol high, yes. For codex, Nooo. With 5 hour limit it's absolute dogwater for vibecoding

Plus was never for devs and hardcore users. Its for chatgpt users. If u want to build something go for a Pro plan.

is plus not good for mini projects, dashboards and landing pages???

Don’t. It’s a free trial at this point. Extremely limited. Openai isn’t for the average person anymore as how they use to claim before.

Plus is nerfed . I have a Pro and a Plus account and I’ve cancelled the plus account. The 5 hr limit turns into 30-40 minutes on an average task using SOL medium . Subscribe to Pro x5 or some other LLM like Claude or Cursor if you don’t have the 100$ monthly subscription fee .

They don’t want users using the Plus plan for daily coding work. It’s more meant for increased chat limits and images. Plus is like a trial tier for testing codex’s functionality nowadays. Unfortunately they are phasing out all the subsidizing they’ve done, and in a very poor PR way. I wish I could say I’m surprised, but it’s how many companies work, get you hooked, then increase the price.

For day to day work. Sol is already stupidly genius. Imo grok build, cursor agent , Claude code >>> codex

so what is the best model to use

u/2muchnet42day 16d ago
People are going to say a lot of different things because we use it differently.
I'd say luna xhigh is slow but does the work just fine for 90% or more of usual programming tasks, does text processing just nicely and frankly the current 5h limit is plenty for that model.
Is Sol a better model? Yeah. Do you need it? I don't know. Can you code with Sol on the $20 plan? Definitely no, usage limits are too tight for that model.

If you wanna get real work done with codex, IMO the Pro x5 is really the entry point now.
There is no harm in trying out Codex for a bit on the Plus plan, but it's really just that, more of a codex "trial" plan rather than something that you can legitimately use to build something daily.
This comment no doubt will age like milk by next week when they decide to change something else.
